Default Short shifter question

Hi all,

I have few question about that stuff for my track car
1/ I am wondering what is the distance between the 2 scews. I would try to make an adjustable one.

2/ the original one is mounted only on the transaxe. If I look the "Roger" system, It is mounted on the chassis. But IMHO, I Think that there is a reason why the original system is as it is. It may occur that the body and motor-transmission system has vibration/variation again each other. So Original system should be more relevant that after market proposal. Is there really what happens, Or people who are using "roger" system did not experienced such problems.

Thanks in advance for your attention

Best

I have seen a vibration occur with the use of bronze bushings in the rear with my new shifter design.

Many vehicles have the shifter base bolted to the chassis.

I have also seen one car where the front shift rod caused a bunch of vibration. Re securing it solved the problem.

If this is a track which you say it is, then I would strongly recommend my new shifter design!

The very early 928s had the forward shift rod guide sleeve bolted to the chassis.....Porsche quickly changed this and mounted it to the torque tube. They obviously wanted all the linkage to be mounted to the engine t-tube trans....perhaps because that 800 lb lump suspended by only four rubber mounts MOVES around a LOT. It does not move far but needs its own shock absorbers

Jim,

I believe that the reason Porsche made the change from the chassis mounted rubber piece to mounting it to the TT was more to do with the removal of the drivetrain.

It is actually very surprising as to how little the engine/tt/transmission move around with new motor, and transmission mounts.

Well seeing as how I designed it I am biased!

However, contact ROG100 for current pricing. They are in stock.

I have bronze bushings, and a rattle from the shifter handle at certain speeds. It sounds like the end of the shifter handle itself actually rattling around inside the ****. It's on my list of things to look into, though I still have to replace the front ball cup anyway. (Will probably do that in the next week, along with swapping the stock O2 for an Innovate wideband.)

We no longer supply the bronze bushes for the "Lizard" shifter but Delrin ones with a round (not elongated) pin hole. No buzzing.
