Like OTR, not today, but over the weekend.

Took the wife out for a drive on Monday, and for the first time in the 3 years of having the car, she said "wow...that was an enjoyable drive".

love that radio, was hard to justify the price for my US 80, but super nice.

finally got oetiker clamps on both CV boots at the flange ends, passenger side. Had to take the half shaft off the car again. Driver's side is next, followed by a refilling of the gearcase and differential and replacement of the fuel tank.

It’s been awhile.
Compressor clutch had failed so replaced compressor and dryer. System held vacuum well and was an easy refill.
Painfully ice cold again.

Craig, glad to see you on here, hope alls well.

Wired up my front coupler so I can make the drive up to Camp 928. Broke the insert on some hard 1-2 shifts during autocross. I’ll have to make permanent fix after the weekend. Car shifting action relatively smooth!

Hey there Bob.
Great pics. Looks like a good time.

Forgot to add earlier, replaced the headlight washer diverter valve. A neck stem had broke to one of the lights. Did it without removing the nose. Hoses routed the same, just located the diverter valve under the headlight torsion bar closer to the Right headlight hose fitting and refitted the main feed hose below the retracted headlight. Works well, and all moving parts clear.

Default Finished Intake refresh

I finally finished an intake refresh on my 88 S4. Took the car out for a drive today, first time since last fall. I noticed the idle is more stable and it seems to accelerate more quickly.

Your lovely engine bay prompts a question off topic: why are there holes in the underside of the tubes that feed the air box?

Do you mean the ones that go into the top of the TB cover?

They are there to provide a 'draw' for the air inside the cover.
Drawing out the old air and allowing fresh air to replace it.

There are various thoughts on why that is done.

I meant on the underside of the air tubes that connect to the air box. My tubes are shaped exactly the same way, corrugated in parts and each has a few quarter sized holes on its underside.

Swapped in another CC brain, this is my third attempt:

The first one would almost never work, but when it did and I tried to set a speed it would go past 100mph.
The second one worked for 2 days, then went odd. I could hear the CC relay click when I engaged it, but it would not hold a speed. It would however accel when I pushed the stalk forward.
Third one ("good" bought from Ebay) worked, then didn't work, then worked again. Need to try it a bit more. Would accell when I pushed the stalk forward.

I removed my intake tubes and the only holes are the ones that connect to the TB covers.

Installed a new cold air intake on my 928MS supercharged Spyder. Draws air through a 4" inlet in the driver's side fender well, takes it through a carbon fiber airbox with K&N filter in it, and into the supercharger inlet.
