Burning Brakes
sorry for the late reply.. Been vacationing ..repaint due to the wrong color on the first round of a repaint.. Fixed the non working tail light problem.. Working in the interior now , bought a used leather dash to recover before taking out my existing dash...but getting the sunroof to work has brought a smile to my face most of all.. Yes this is my second spoiler sold the first one for a decent profit.. Can't decide if I want to add a spoiler to my car..maybe the 928 police will say it's not factory..
Gave up on my sunroof and headliner a while back, decided to clean it up and leave it. Wanted to dynamat the roof but the sunroof/headliner gave me too much trouble and I didn't want to damage it more.
Finished shaping and gluing dash panels today. Will start sewing next weekend.

Rear hatch release motor
Modified the ground connection to my rear hatch release motor on my GTS.
Brn/wht cable from the motor to direct ground. Now the hatch opens if the door is closed or open

On my '87:
Pulled the fan shroud and fixed a leak from one of the PS hoses (non-pressure line onto cooling loop).
Added some anti-squeal to the back of the rear brake pads.. much improved on the noise front
Put the stock S4 rims on with the new tires.
Drove it around a bit until properly warm, and adjusted the warm idle mixture to 14.7 AFR (I don't have a gas analyser to do it by CO). Its a non-cat car, being from Europe, so no O2 sensor.
Interestingly, with a freshly rebuilt JDS MAF, I had to turn the MAF compensation almost to the very end of the adjustment range (97% according to my ST2's fuel system readout) to get there.

Easiest job by far and most bang for the buck- window switch not working well on the down position. Had to press like a **** in just the right spot. Disassembled and did the old plastic shaving trick on the housing. Took about two minutes. Works like a champ now. Why did I wait a year...!
Also put on all new decals (Jaeger) for the window/sunroof etc switches. They look real nice.

Tried again to fabricate a transmission line hose. Apparently the dirt helped sealed the fitting to hard line and it continued to weep ATF slowly no matter how tight I made it or if I used thread sealant. Mating surface looked scoured, probably my fault when uninstalling.
Went on a limb and bought the OES hose from Amazon. Didn't have the part number but a manufacturer number and Amazon fitment said it was the right one. Just arrived today...and it IS the right hose. Correct part number, made in Germany, genuine Porsche. I saved $25-30 if I had bought it elsewhere and I got free 2-day shipping (Prime).
Who knew Amazon actually carried genuine 928 Porsche parts?
