I auto-crossed my 86.5 928S this weekend with the PCA. First time I have done it in 30+ years, man I am rusty and the cones just seem to vanish :-) Only 928 there, kind of a fetish item for the club members as they don't see many of these beasts around.
That said, on the drive up I passed a cop on 95 at 70mph (speed limit 65). He pulled out, lights on, so I pulled over at a rest stop to chat.
"Where are you going today"
Racing!
"Ok..... Do you know why I stopped you?"
Nope!
"Your car does not have a front license plate. So what is this car?"
It's an 86 Porsche 928
"I didn't know they made these...."
So we had to look at the car, and he gave me a warning, I'm guessing he flagged me just to check it out :-)

Today, I removed, repaired, and replaced the left rear ABS and brake pad wear sensor harness.
It was snapped in two when it snagged on the inner CV bolts - because the harness-to-body rubber mountings were deteriorated to uselessness.
I thought I was going to have to drop the transmission and/or rear suspension to get the plug through where it needed to go, but managed to squeeze it through eventually.
As a bonus I got to replace the left inner CV boot, which meant that I had to drop the rear muffler to get the drive shaft out then back in.
Porsche's 928 - remove five things to get to what you need to fix.

The 928 needed a bath, but instead I drove it on a 300 mile round trip across the plains of eastern Colorado. Destination: remove a 1968 Fiat from a barn and get it running. Success! And the Shark was flawless at speed.
Here's the car in the garage this morning, loaded and ready to go.

Three Wheelin'
Installed the Intake and 7/8 fuel injectors.
Got stopped because one injector was missing the little plastic cover at the bottom.
Now gotta wait on amazon to deliver the kit

Hood insulation pad
I installed a new hood insulation pad today. Turned out alright, better than the old dried out original pad. I also replaced the headlight pivot arm C-clips with McMaster clips.

Currently waiting on an opinion on an old school light bronze window tint for my black over tan S3- but I was told not to bother with seat heaters because of the seat inset design- apparently I’d never feel the heat thru all of the undulation

wide band O2 sensor
Installed a PLX wide band O2 sensor in my 81 Euro S. I’ve modified my console so there wasn’t any where good to mount another gauge so I got their Bluetooth model. Now I can monitor it on my phone. It’s pretty cool! I had a top end rebuild and installed some new headers so tomorrow I’m going to the Dyno to try to tune it. The sensor should help us not Lean it out.
