Got my driver's interior door panel off and removed the tattered old vapor barrier. Next I'll be replacing the door stay, and figuring out how to cut the new vapor barrier and navigate it around all the wiring.

I take the batteries out of both 928s (and the boat) and rotationaly charge them.
This weekend was time to ensure all are fully charged for spring and installation laps of 2017

I use Tyvek home wrap whenever I need to replace a moisture barrier. It's waterproof, very tear-resistant, and works great.

Got the replacement tranny installed and took it out for a test run. Shifts great.

Finished the refurb of the PS Window Motor. Runs far, far better than it did prior...hopefully the window goes up a bit faster (after, of course, I clean up the rest of the mechanisms).

Just got my new door stay in. Easier than I expected, and it works great! That's gonna do so much to get rid of the funky old jalopy feeling. Although now it makes me realize the passenger side is pretty weak too.

Drove it to the airport(RDU) and then flew to San Francisco. Ubered to meet nephew who rented a 2008 911 Cabriolet and a 2014 Boxster on www.turo.com. We cruised up Pacific Coast Highway to Stinson Beach and then down to Santa Cruz swapping cars. At approximately $200/day/car it was a great deal and incredible fun.
The PDK and 7 speed transmission in the Boxster kept up with the 911 easily. The Boxster also felt more like the 928 because it felt predictable when pushed in turns. The 911 front end just felt light and I know you are supposed to accelerate when it does to but that is just not a natural response.
On future trips www.turo.com will be my first call before Hertz.

I pulled both rear axles, cleaned and repacked the CV joints, and replaced the Boots. I also did the small Tie-strap trick for the rear hatch release.

Drained the provent in the S4 as I found out the PO never plumbed a drain for it
Now the front of the engine all the way to the back is covered in droplets of oil. This'll be fun to clean.
Now to order some more parts to fix this....

Backed it out of the garage, and let the gentle rain wash off the last 13 months of dust off it. Blew most off with compressed air first, but my buddy that owns a body shop said this would work well. He was right. Car looks pretty good. Gonna let her enjoy the rain till it quits raining.
