If they fill up 18s better, its likely to end up on the winter budget.

They fill my 18" Turbo Twist II's beautifully and stop them like nobody's biz even with my dual MC's. Coincidental, The 1.62" 4-piston Wilwood caliper is the best match for the early factory 928 MC as well. I have not looked at the 928 brake line, but I'm guessing it is M10 x 1.0?

The red-headed stepchild of the 928......"S"
The spindle caliper ears are axial mount 104mm C2C and the hub heights are 74mm. They are non-ABS hubs and they are the strongest of all the 928 hubs as well. I took apart a later 928 hub with the ABS ring and the interface had some text-book galvanic corrosion. Here's some interesting reading...

Finally got the prototype done...I Got the caliper with pads dead-center on the
32mm thick rotor with the new adapter design stepped in at the caliper interface. I also went further and tapped everything metric as the M10 x 1.5 is stronger than the factory standard bolt that Wilwood calls for at the caliper and this makes install a breeze. These will be half moon shaped and mega strong.

4ea.... M12 x 1.5 x 40 at the spindle ....(use 1/16" thick washers only)
4ea.....M10 x 1.5 x 35 at the caliper ....(use 1/16" thick washers only)

Now just have to make them pretty like the 944 adapters and churn out some centering rings.......

xschop,
can I use your set up on a MJ 84 Euro S with ABS also?

Thanks in advance!

What is the OD of the tone-ring? I'm assuming it is the smaller O.D. 90-count? I'm drawing out the final design and there is plenty of meat there that can accommodate a larger OD hub.

I´m looking in PET and the cars with or without ABS use the same brake disks.Maybe the only difference is the ABS ring on the hub.

Looking good, nice effort to make an affordable upgrade using reasonably priced rotors and calipers with a good selection of pads.

Perfect!
I like this set up more than using the parts from a S4.The abs ring from S4 hubs has different teeth and I think after the mod with S4 parts I have a broken ABS.

So I can use Xschop set on the front and S4 calipers and discs on the rear and all is working?

The rear calipers will need a couple small shims/washers to center the S-4 caliper on the rotor, very easy.

Thanks JB , that is interesting about the rear shimming. The same goes for the 944. I machined 2.7mm thick shims to put 951 fronts on the 944 rear arm for another hybrider. Their C2C caliper bolts are 94mm.

More good news... I set everything back up and it looks like it will clear a sensor tip that would protrude out of the spindle boss. My 85 spindle has the ABS boss cast into it, but it is not machined for a sensor from factory. If someone can post a pic of the sensor tip in relation to the caliper ear mount holes, I will machine these adapters to fit with maximum material. I'm kinda picky like that

The half-moon adapter bracket now mounts to this side, so I need these dims to confirm....
