Need Info: 82 Euro S specific fuse/relay chart
Does 82 EuroS (5 speed) utilize the starter relay XIV?
Or is a bridge fitted instead?
If a bridge, across which relay terminals? 30/87 like a jumper?

The '82 five-speed should use the 928.612.473.00 bridge connecting terminals 86 and 87.
30 - battery power
86 - start terminal on ignition switch (50 bus)
85 - ground
87 - starter solenoid

Well, it wasn't a spade-lug wire job but all it does is connect two terminals. If that works for you, then that's the slots to use. I vaguely recall it running more north-south but my car is in storage 20 miles from here to check.
The terminals are listed in the electrical diagrams. Yep...30 to 87

In my wiring diagram, pin 30 on the relay is connected to bus 50 which is the starter position. Pin 86 gets switched power from bus 15 which is switched power.

I think that diagram is wrong.
The '82 wiring diagram on Page 97-121 in the Factory Workshop Manual shows the connections as in my post above.

Yes Wally-That is exactly what just happened before I read your post-SCARED ME. It didn't matter that the key wasn't even in the car. Ok- I took that out. I don't have the 92861247300 relay yet. Can I jumper 86 to 87 till I get the relay? Gunar

Imagine if you had a five-speed, and it was in gear...
Yes, but be aware that the car will now start in any gear. You no longer have the neutral/park safety switch.

It is a five speed but it wasn't in gear- I will try to be more careful. I don't know how to read 86 to 87. Is this from the diagram that is on the relay that I don't have. Can you describe where to place the jumper pins? Gunar

MESSAGE I PUT ON OTHER FORUM-OK- I just scared myself bad when the starter started spinning when I was hooking up the ground in the hatch after jumpering like Dano did. Far left to far right on relay XIV(start-bridge)- I don't know how to read 86 to 87 or 30 to 87. Are you getting these numbers off the diagram on the relay itself? Starter turned with key in off position. I pulled the jumper and the fuel injection relay (XVI-I don't think I'm supposed to use this one with CIS?) and am waiting for further instruction. Wally says to jump 86 to 87 but be careful because I loose the neutral/park safety switch doing this. I don't know where to put the jumpers. I want to flush the fuel line which I have disconnected right before the engine and am prepared to catch can the fuel some then connect the lines to close up the system then try to start. Gunar

to figure out the relay pins simply look at the bottom of the relays,
they should be numbered then you can figure things out.
NOTE The 5 speeds only take the bridge,
the auto version gets a relay

Hold a 53 relay up to the slots. Turn it in the one direction so that it will fit into the slots (don't put it in).
Then identify the terminals by reading from the relay itself
