Too rigid, but might self destruct in an interesting new way.

Solid rubber or factory seem the best options.

And you've developed a healthy paranoia from me on thus one. I'm going to revert to volvo mounts this winter. As much as Greg's posting attitude grates on me, he is usually right.

If Greg were a doctor, he'd be a pathologist. He's seen every weird case in the hospital, his job is nothing but diagnosis day-in and day-out, and he's unencumbered by having to have a bedside manner. Just tells it like it is.

as with most things regarding the 928, stock is better than modified. Too many people trying to solve problems that dont exist.

For those that install solid Al mounts, please post your VIN so future buyers can be aware of the issues lurking with stress fractures.

I pretty much tell things like they are. I've been a Porsche only mechanic and owned my own shop for over 35 years. I've raced and built race cars for that entire time. I also work on street cars. I've seen more than a few parts "hacks/******" with "brilliant" ideas come and go, over these years. Trust me, there are very few people that had ads in the 1975 Panorama still in business....and none of those that are still left were ever anything but brutally honest offering quality products. The "hacks and ******" never seem to make it, very long.

Even seemingly "good ideas" can turn out to be bad, when making aftermarket parts.

Bad ideas are generally more obvious and they can be weeded out, by logic, in the beginning, before too many people get "burned".

I'm never sure why I even bother with Rennlist. I've got some great friends on here and have met some great people, which makes it worthwhile. However, after 35 years, it is very rare that I learn something here.

I think I'm to the point where I just want to try and share the knowledge that I have.

Can I be a sarcastic ***? Absolutely! Do I pick on people that I think are dishonest? Absolutely! Do I pick on people that I feel sell untested products? Absolutely! Do I hold people that I believe steal other's ideas and market them as their own in low esteem? Absolutely! Are there people out there that don't like me or my approach? Absolutely!

If I've got nothing of value, for you, you can always put me on "ignore". That will actually have very little effect on my day....
