Hey I'm a new member (thanks to my dad!)
I (we) just got (going to pick-up, next week) an '87 blk/blk auto

There is lots I want to do. My dad says read ALL the Rennlist topics, and search on items you are interested in.

I'll upload pics later.

Driving a power car at 16 but drinking a beer at 21 is something difficult for us Europeans to imaging. You are lucky for driving a Porsche 928 but be carefull.

I would have loved an '87 928 when I was 16, I doubt I would have lasted very long.

My first car in '80 was a '77 Honda Civic... Second was my OWN car '80 Triumph Spitfire...thankfully my dad knew better than to hand me the keys to anything more powerful. I would have died! I think my Spit had just shy of 70HP! LOL!

Congratulations! When I was 17 - My Mom handed me the keys to a 1978 Pontiac Trans Am - 6.6 Hurst 4 spd. (Smokey and the Bandit - ask your Dad - LOL)

Granted 220 hp isnt 316 hp but still - Its doesnt matter how much HP u have. Anyone can get into trouble if they do not practice responsibility.

Be careful and take it slow learning the car. Dont let fools try to talk you into street racing. All I can say is Know when to say when.

Again - congrats and welcome to the insanity!

Welcome. You will learn much from reading and asking questions here as you probably already know. Just remember your driving a car thats 5 years OLDER than you and if you want it to last...take it easy.

Wow!

I would have loved one as a teen. I got to drive my dad's 79 which I eventually bought from him, but only on certain occasions.

Remember what Peter Parker's uncle told him, "With great power comes great resonsibility".

Not that you should live your life like a comic book hero, but it is a great quote and very much applies here!

I actually met Rick Jr at Thunderhill back in 09....he was quite good at push starting the racer!!!

a 928 S4 for a 1st car...WOW..... I will have to send your dad the tricks to turn down the HP in your ride!!! :>)

I remember my 1st car...it happened to be a 1988 Chrysler Conquest Tsi...with 188hp-234 torque in a 3000lb car...NOT a good choice for me at 16 years old....far from it really...I am still stunned I didn't kill or cripple myself in that thing!!!
