So sad to see such a nice EURO S ruined like that. Fast in the Qtr...not so much to 60, but I would have traded them my red Euro S for that one...I am pretty sure it is faster than mine is right now... The silver car was a US S, but no telling what year...looked like the EURO car was a touch faster off the line, but that was hard to tell. When the flipped the body around they were getting MUCH more rear wheel spin on launch and I think that explains why the times were so much slower...

Great to see the 928 center stage on a popular TV show, but somewhat disappointing that they wouldn't call it by name. Maybe they wanted cash from Porsche for the free advertising and Porsche didn't go for it. Can't remember if they called the Lambo a Lambo during the speed camera myth. Anyway, great episode and glad the car didn't come off looking like a stupid design.

Funny that the red one was a euro and the silver was not but they called them exact matches?

Also noticed the sunroof switch was up side down.

Don't understand the 0-60 times either if that was a euro, maybe not an S?

The car was a respray. The first part of the show showed the hood crest and it was sprayed over in a huge way.

I'd give this a huge thumbs up for our cars guys. A huge thumbs up.

I am not sure you could get the "S" gear on a NON-S Euro car...though I guess Porsche would do anything for a fee, but a non-S would not do the QTR in 14 flat! Well, not an auto anyway...

Sean, I didn't see the beginning so I feel MUCH better now!

I thought during the early 80's there were a few years where there were euro S's and euro non S's. Not sure what the motivation would be to import a non-S to the US though. It didn't have the rear spoiler, so thought maybe it was a non-S. Did have a front one though.

The car appeared to be a Euro S.

Now, who really gives a **** since the myth was busted. The 928 goes faster in it's real configuration, in all OB/S/S4 configs. Now before James goes ape****. They tried the model on the S4 first in the tunnel....................I'm tired, someone else take this over...................

I noticed that too, but later on it appeared the hood crest was simply taped over in a lame attempt to remove any reference to Porsche.

I don't know. I still can't get over the picture of Kari in her body suit. I am so stuck on her. Have been since she first joined the show.

I noticed that they forgot to block out the PENSKE on the front of their moving truck though.

I normally like Mythbusters, but actually didn't find this episode very entertaining. Oh well, at least a 928 was present.
The Porsche copyright lawyers are merciless, I bet the copyright person(s) working on the show went over both the car and the script to make sure the copyrighted logo/name did not appear.

They did't blow anything up this episode, thus making it less entertaining.

It was gratuitous of them to paint up the car very nicely before showing it. Especially since the drug it around to places like SEMA.

I noticed the reversed body was very high in the front, that would account for quite a bit more drag. Also the wheel openings stick farther out in front than rear just a bit in the forward mode making them air scoops when the body is reversed. All that assumes they added the weight back in the right places to keep the front to rear weight distribution. Maybe not seeing the rear wheel spin when backwards.

Anyone that has driven a 928 above 120 should know the 928 was not designed to be a slippery as possible, but instead to provide some downforce at speed to maintain handling ease. Hence the low power steering assist also.

No they didn't. They cover all labels from beer bottles etc.

Wind tunnel model was S4 or GT. Rear spoiler was just removed to make it look older.

They should have changes springs and wheels to make red one really reversed. Bodys wrong stance alone makes all performace tests useless.
