I personally think that it is a bit to much concidering the shinny new ones are only $94 bucks more plus its cheeper to get the coating before you buy.
I guess I don't really feel that I need them yet.
maybe next year I will do up the engine with an exhaust system to match it.

They will not be shinny new out of the box, they will be exactly like these, with mild surface rust. These are exactly as I received them from MSDS.
It is not cheaper to coat them when you buy them if you are considering quality of coating. The MSDS coatings (Nickel or Z95 Ceramic) are not near as good as Jet Hot Sterling Silver, IMO. 928 MS offers the Jet Hot for $1080. I could get these Jet Hot coated locally for $360 for a Rennlister. That's $860 total (not counting shipping) which is $220 cheaper than 928 MS.
$220 is $220.

Ok, just got updated pricing from Jet Hot. They will coat these headers in Sterling Silver for $285 and ship directly to my buyer at $34. The coatings will come with a lifetime warranty to the buyer (you). They coat the headers inside as well.
I would recommend getting them coated.

Looks like MSDS found out about my awesome price and undercut me. They are apparently on sale for $445 until the end of November according to another Rennlister.
That price is not shown on their web site, but I'm sure it's legit.

It's a factory made clearance relief, I believe for the steering shaft. Looks like they just heat the pipe and press it in slightly.
The headers shown on 928 MS site have the same clearance relief on that primary pipe.
