Tried the car from cold this morning and it was fine. Started first time and idled at 900 to 1000rpm. Drove off for a spirited 5 miles or so, when i returned it was idling at approx 675rpm again. Car didnt miss a beat. Am thinking its done now!!. I am going to retry and compare the digital readout with the tacho display, will be worth knowing if the tacho compares to the display.
Thanks again!!

Good to hear Steve.

Did you return the 'spanner' to John? If not it might be worhwhile to do a last idle adapt.

Then we'll call this one a wrap.

ps....Bale's got tough work today and its only just gone 1/2 time

Malcolm, yes returned the spanner already. Unless Santa brings me a spanner then will not be possible!
Going to be driving it daily now its running good.
When are you going to tackle your intake??? I have kept all the parts from my refresh, let me know if you need anything from them. I cant imagine me going back in there for some considerable time!!

Spurs just took the lead against Arsenal...will be famous victory for Spurs if they do it!!

Thx for the offer Steve but as mentioned I did my intake refresh a few years ago but the car has developed a high idle. I'm thinking its drawing air in from the plastic oil filler as I did the water bridge R&R when it was all together and its a very tight fit between the intake and oil filler....we'll see.

I will be checking the position of the throttle plate very carefully.

When?........its a balmy -18c @ 7:30 this morning............I'll let her sleep for for another day/week.

Game over............what a win for Spurs............now we have Birmingham vs Chelsea.
