Neither had I - but it's _such_ a perfect usage for any 20 year old car. Apt and vivid.

Ask the seller to email pictures of the engine and close up shots of the front/rear/sides. If they're not willing to do this before you travel 4 hours I would be a bit nervous.

Weiss: If the two you are looking at don't pan out, check this auction out. It would be a hike (near Gettysburg), but Kevin Michael is known and respected in the 928 community.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...44#description Verify the owner is Kevin Michael, [edit: He has verified this] . . . this is a very desirable package. Currently the auction is $9K, no reserve, this package includes engine re-build, new paint (his shop), and Paul Champaign seats and accents.

That is a stunning car, and you can bet the paint is world class, not to mention Pauls work on the interior.

Hey Weiss your car is up for auction, pay attention this is the one you want.
Bid last and bid hi.
this is what a sorted car is and thats the best way to get into ownership, yes it may cost more up front but you can drive right away and the cost of ownership will be less in the long run,
screw adding 5K to your purchase to make it right here is a car thats already right!
I suggest to bid over 15K you might get lucky , you will have a winner

Thanks for the heads up , I saw that car last night and considered it, I just promised myself never again would I buy a black car. but if the price was right.....
I cant really drive a 928 where I live much past Thanksgiving anyways as they use copius amounts of rock salt on our roads in new Hampshires White Mountains. I have a car trailer to move the car for service in the winter. Gonna look at another one in mass with all the records(like 40k in maint)1989/ 90k miles and 5 speed guards red /tan as well as the blue 87 on Tuesday.

Good luck!

I would also suggest considering Kevin's car if its within your budget.

I can give you plenty of tips on how to keep black looking good as long as it isn't a daily driver.

I certainly hope the price won't be "right" on this 928. This is an exceptional 928 that could set a new high for selling price for its model year, and still be a crazy bargain.

I have thrown a glove in he ring on that car, if it falls in my budget I will gladly purchase it. The mods and records are very desirable. I work tons in the summer (80 -100 hrs/wk) so much of the driving would be spring and fall. Would be a fourth car but prob first choice for trips to Portland and Ct. on days off. Track days will also be in the picture but thats what the shifter kart is supposed to be for.....

No $h!+. The seats in that car are worth $3k+ as take-offs!

If that car goes for less than $20k whoever gets it will have stolen it.

I agree the car is stunning and probably out of the non divorce price range. So that is why i am shopping with a budget that has 33% for maint. needs. All of the mods can come after a good reliable car that has enough grin factor to fit my budget. Worf thanks for the download and i will use it o my inspections as much as locations allow. I found a shop in Canton Ct to do ppi on the western Mass car, bonus is it is an 89 the ad listed wrong year. I appreciate the advice and did not mean to insult with my "price is right" comment, just reality with the juggling of funds between business expansion, investment and fun $.
Cheers
Weiss
