Isn't there a thermal protection switch embeded in the motor that can be reset, too?

I always start by pulling the door panels, pulling the wires off the motors, and running the windows up and down by hooking my battery charger up to the terminals. That allows me to assess the operation of the widow/regulator/motor assembly and also look at current draw.

Why yes, Chris. My, how observant you are, you 928-obsessed freak!

Wally mentioned it.

See Post #2, paragraph 3 of Jim's thread.

...do NOT use crappy connectors/splicers...
What? No way. Those pinch splices are the first thing I look for when I have trouble....;] Bruce

Soooo...

Got into the door, the plug to the motor was all corroded, pretty bad.

Had power in the right values at the plug..up and down sides.

Cleaned posts a little, plugged in..and the motor on a cold night ssttruggles, and makes subtle *bzzt* sounds from within.

Pull the star screws..and the housing, clean er up I guess is the remedy here. On a HOT day, the goo in there is loser and it all turns as required...is my guess.

Pulled the two T23 screws out, and the mag housing came right off as expected.

The shaft screwed right out as well.

Bushings only 1/2 worn, one stuck so wasnt really sitting well, the grease in the transmission is...gummy and cold tonight, but not dried out. Nothing really looks in poor shape..just needs a cleaning.

In a few evenings, the drivers side window should be in pretty sweet condition depending how challenging it will be to clean old dried grease off the curved arm thing with gear teeth on it.
