No affiliation, but right in my backyard.

If for nothing else, check out the auction listing to see the pics of his garage. Holy ****...

I'm thinking about upgrading my garage floor to look like that one. Pave it and they will come?

Nice looking 928. WOW! Quite the bevy of beautiful cars:bowdown:

Step 1. Pave garage floor
Step 2. Make millions
Step 3. Buy lotsa cars

I suspect, contrary to statements on the ebay add, this car has been hit from behind. Just no reason to put a GTS rear bumper cover on an 89 S4 5spd. Different exhaust as well.

Still could be a very good car though.

Appearance upgrade and aftermarket exhaust? Doesn't really seem weird to me.

The add says is comes with the '95 GTS upgrades. Does that include the logo? That seems a bit cheesy to me. Not the best view on the shifter but it doesn't look like a short-throw to me. As Dan H. said, could still be a nice car but I wouldn't be able to trust the seller. It also bothers me that they post pictures of the other cars in this add as if that gives them more credibility or raises the value of this car. I sense smoke and mirrors.

it looks like its almost time for the intake refresh add 2k to the bill

Norton928 10-22-2010 03:52 PM

Hmmm, I'm not partial to the false billing on the rear bumper.

me neither, but I do like the reflector strip. I would never put the GTS badge on it. It's like putting a 560 badge on a 380 mbz or a 540 badge on a 528 bimmer...

I wonder if what I heard a while back is true about a shortage of replacement S4 rear bumpers.

Just trying to figure out why someone go with a GTS bumper.

87-91 rear bumper covers are NLA. If you get hit from behind the only option for repair is either a new GTS rear cover or a used 87-91 cover.

Good to know. Thanks for the info.

Bill Ball 10-22-2010 04:53 PM

Yep, probably a junker, like all his other vehicles.

I'm not jealous or anything.

Marine Blue 10-22-2010 04:54 PM

Looks like a nice car.

Agree with others, rear bumper seems odd but certainly not a deal breaker for the right price. Although the car should be inspected.

For anyone looking I would also ask the dealer to provide the service records and the recent service that according to the seller sounds extensive.

See, I've been doing things in the wrong order. I knew there was something wacky about my original method:

-- Buy lotsa cars.
[drive and sell those same lotsa cars at a serious loss]
-- Make millions
[pay taxes, cover education and other misc living expenses]
-- Pave garage floor.

Thanks to 1b above, there aren't many cars left.
Thanks to 2b above, there's barely enough play money left for 3.

I spent the morning yesterday at the financial planner's office, where I was again informed that it "would be a good idea to work another couple years" before considering another full retirement. For a while retirement was fun, but it got boring. Now it's just beyond the fingertips again, especially if I want to have new porcelain tile on the garage floor att the hillside casa. Tile before or after the lift is set? How much longer will I have to work for that?

What are those round things hanging on the walls?
