Default Gas tank repairs

I have to pull out my leaking gas tank to have plastic welded. I know there are seals at the top for sender and bottom/side for strainer/outlet to pump. Are there any other seals I should replace while I have tank out?? Thanks, Kevin

Nope. Just be gentle with the vent hose nipples just behind the filler neck. The rear vent hose loops thru a hole in the body, so don't yank the tank out expecting it to just drop out, you need to thread that hose out as the tank is lowered.

Correct torque is 18 ft lbs.

36 mm socket on a 3/4" drive 6-inch extension works nicely without dropping the straps all the way:

Thank you Rob. That looks like the same gasket that was on there when I took it off. I went to every, and I mean every, place in town trying to fine a square cut flat face o-ring but could not.
Impatient as I am, I coated the o-ring in aviation gasket cement and stuck her back together.
1 week later it started to leak. I was wondering if the pump/valve is porous or if they were prone to leak through the connectors?

Its possible to rig-up all kinds of solutions, but the factory parts seem the most efficient and certain answer most of the time. This stuff is pretty custom.

QFT. The unfortunate side-effect of the 928 being a true clean-sheet, unique design- Poor parts availability at Pep Boyz...

Is there a sock or strainer on this internal tank pump?

Pumps are next in my high rpm/load running issue.

I replaced the in tank screen (no pump), and it came with the correct flat rubber washer....My local wrench advised anti-seize and ONLY just tight enough to seal, barely more than hand tight. On the original tank I spun the threaded insert trying to remove the screen, but was able to seal it up with PC11 epoxy.

Kevin - FWIW, I replaced the filler-neck rubber sleeve when I did mine--it was really dry and cracking. I also replaced a couple hoses as it was a great time to access them; especially the vent hose that goes around the back. Just curious, have you already tried a gas tank repair kit? It's kind of like a JB weld epoxy.
