Washington State 928ers, do you know this car?
I was searching on Autotrader last night and came across a black '85 S in Renton, WA. It seems to be in relatively good shape and is a manual car. I'm not affiliated in any way, but would like to know if anyone has seen or maybe knows the owner/car itself. It also has sport seats and apparently maintenance records. The ad says it's been owned by the same person for the last 12 years.

I don't recognize the 928 other than having seen it on craigslist for some time. From the pics it looks pretty clean.
Pop over to the PacNW 928 list and post a query on there...as someone there might know more about it...

I'm hoping to find out some more info on it and MAYBE have myself another 928. I went on a tour with the local group out here in NC this weekend and there were only two 928s. I think our trip would have been much nicer in a 928 than our Cayenne. Though, the Cayenne came in really handy for hauling a couple extra people.

I'm guessing it's the slightly gold anodizing on the stock flats. My track car runs those for driving to and from the track...

Update...
I talked with the seller. Seems the car at the very least will be needing a TB/WP and an AC recharge. It has been kept up with but not used much in the last four years or so, but being a 928 owner, they have their own mechanic that keeps it going. WP was done in the last four years, but apparently they left out the belt? When the owner took delivery about 12 years ago, there were some gremlins stemming from the audio system and the alarm. Seems about $1500 later those were fixed, and the only issue now seems to be that the cluster, and occasionally one gauge instead of the entire cluster will do it's own thing for a second or two and then right itself. Also, the temp gauge constantly reads hot. I figure that cleaning the contacts on the cluster may fix the intermittent problem there, and then maybe a sender for the temp issue. Everything else I asked about seems to be in good working order.
Thoughts? I need someone to go look at it for me!

Platinum anodized (according to one of the best Porsche wheel guys in the country...Wheel Enhancements) is silver...which makes total sense considering platinum is in fact silver in color! Not sure what he gold wheels were called...maybe gold! No matter what the gold wheels were called be sure to TAKE CARE of the wheels and finish because THEY CAN NOT BE REFINISHED IN THAT COLOR!

Some of you Pac NW guys help my poor boy Jon out! He has been fighting for your freedom with the US Army for the last (how long now???) 5 years... take a few minutes out of your week/weekend and look at this 928 for him so he can have some eyes on to determine if it is in fact worth ANYTHING...

Thanks James. I've got Tom willing to help out next week if nothing else happens. I have been looking at another car as well in Ft. Worth. '89 S4 5-speed. It's Slate Grey with what looks to be Linen and Black interior. Looks very nice, and the owner says it's been maintained since he's owned it by Roger and the guys at 928sRus. So, I'm betting it's in tip-top shape.
I need to get rid of my current car to realistically get another, so my car is already up for sale. I've already got some people interested. But if I can't get rid of it, I can't get a 928.
