Default 85/86 pinion shaft nut removal

I would like to disassemble the pinion drive shaft gear set from an '85/'86 manual transmission. Anyone know of a way to remove the retaining nut so that I can then press the gears off. These parts are not going back together, so it doesn't matter if the nut is damaged, but I don't want to damage the other gears.

I would let the most mechanically skilled of the parts buyers do that, takes a special tool as I recall, and then they could ship the other parts on to the next person.

That's an interesting suggestion. I don't know if any of the buyers have the tools. If anyone on Rennlist has the tools and would be willing to loan them out, I would happily pay shipping and a rental fee to use them.

If a 5th gear is going to Greg, he has the tools.
