Wheeler Dealers 928 Episode on tonight
Discovery HD Theater (not sure when the 2nd half plays).

My favorite part is the very nice restored phone dials with the "I dug thru the trash can to find these" lug nuts.
|
They only put on part 2? What happened to part 1?

The host would certainly fit right in here. He was absolutely giddy during his first drive after the restoration - almost in disbelief that he was driving this amazing 20 year old supercar. Add another one to the "he gets it" column. :)

Ok so they spent 5,000 quid NOT COUNTING ED'S labor and "made" 1,000 or 1,600 dollars. Good thing they get paid to be on the show :) They did nothing to refresh any part of the engine. Just spent $3,200 on paint making it LOOK NICE on the outside.......I feel sorry for the buyer he is in it $10,000 but he did get to be on TV :)
|
And those Porsche electrics are so so reliable :D I got a good laugh out of that one when Mike said that...
|
I watch this program on Cable TV all the time... they make it sound so easy!
Wait until the new owner finds out about the Timing Belt and Water pump. So it's a 1979 928 prettied up and easily sold for $9,000 (6000 #British)... I guess 928's sell for more money on the other side of the Pond than the States? :) |
Funny thing is the brake calipers were probably just fine or needed just new seals and dust boots. The BBS wheels were worth far far more than the phone dials and only the professional painter KNEW that the car had already been painted TWICE ! Reality T V what a joke..... always remember that everyone who is talking on any show is usually wired.....that takes away the surprise :) Gee I wonder who is knocking on my front door !
|
That paint work would be about $6-7000 in the US including all the labor. They would be badly upside down by the time it sold, and like others have said, nothing in the engine bay has been touched except the filters. No trans work either.

That's Entertainment!
I did read on a forum somewhere that Mike Brewer is a hell of a nice guy! |
I am shocked that not one person has noticed.
The buyer is in for more than a bit of a surprise on just the maintenance. This car still has aluminium lower ball joints....... |
Send an e-mail to Discovery and ask them to do updates on the owners of the cars they sold. I'm always wondering what happens to the houses ABC gives away, the "pimped" cars MTV hands out and ofcourse the cars in Chop Shop and Wheeler Dealers.
|
The 928 on Wheeler Dealers did actually look nice when they finished the exterior refresh.

Watched that-a couple of times- Entertaining. Nothing was mentioned about the T.belt replacement by the afficianado?
Anyway, great show. Watch on youtube. |
I know that the cars on Power Block were parted out and junked till last season. The pickups on Trucks were sold to viewers for the first time, and the money went to local charities. I would guess the same happens with the other shows.
