CLutch pedal ball joint ?

I saw this metal clutch ball joint on e-bay, and was wondering if it,s a good idea to replace my plastic/nylon one with it.., although I,ve owned the car for twenty years it,s never been replaced ? even though I had a gearbox rebuild eleven years ago, I did,nt have it replaced.
How hard/easy is it to replace ?

That's not for the clutch. That'd work on the forward shifter rod. In either case, I'd skip it.

5 minute replacement? Yeah... with the Torque Tube out...

Ken, even if you don't replace it, buy one and keep it in the car for when the plastic one fails. Its trivial to fit and some 928ers carry a spare in the car for when theirs or someone else's fail on a drive. Takes a 13mm spanner and a couple of minutes hanging upside-down in the driver's footwell.

Another recent thread about them..

For the other posters, RHD cars are different to LHD and have a ball joint on the clutch pedal.

I still haven't remembered to take a pic of my metal one in-place.. and am away for a few days.

Ok, so ignore my previous post. Is #13 the part that is being replaced?

Hilton,

I was under the impression this needed to be accessed from under the car as this sits on top of the front end of the torque tube?

No 13 is the assister spring pushrod.

The balljoint used on RHD cars is part 22A in lieu of part 22.

The front shifter rod cup bushing on top of the TT does need to be accessed from underneath the car.

The item in question is for RHD cars only and connects the ball on the side of the lcutch pedal to the pushrod that actuates the clutch master cylinder.

photo in a minute.

Brake pedal to the right

Clutch to the left

Well that's completely different now, isn't it?

Mine doesn't look much like that.
