Default WTB: looking for an OB again

I've decided it's time to look for another 928 and I thought I'd fish a little to see who's ready to get rid of what. I've sent a few emails to Craigslist ads, looked at a couple cars, and searched the entire Rennlist 928 archives for the past six month's worth of "FS:" posts, but I'm still looking.

I'm looking for a 78-82 car and I have between 3-4K to play with. I know I can find a pretty darn decent driver for that (I've sold two 85 5-spds for around that). My perfect car wish list includes:

5 spd
No sunroof
No rub strips
Manual seats
No spoilers
Euro would be sweet
Can Can/red, or Pascha interior
Close to Raleigh would be very cool...ok so it's my wish list...

Pssst!... hey... It's been sitting in your garage, It's gathering dust. You drive it every couple months because you know you need to... but the wife's been hounding you, and really, you know it is time to sell it... What do you have? Please PM me with details. Thanks!

Brad,
See if you could hunt this one down...

80 928 5sp, VIN 9289100631, 57K miles, last seen traded in to an Audi dealership in Charlotte NC about 1.5 years ago.

Heh... thanks Jim. Pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. I may just give hunting it down a try and see.

Jim and Brad,
That car looks GREAT and I suspect IF it were for sale it would be closer to $10k (at least from how it looks in those pics) than to $4k!

I am asking 2X ($8250...) that for my '84 S... Black/Can-Can interior though...needs new front seat covers and I think the rears and the rear center section could all be redyed to make them nice again...not so much the front seats, though they are not cracked through in any places. So, maybe someone with time and inclination could really bring them back for few $$$. As it stands it is a very nice car on the inside and SUPERB on the outside (Ruby red...gold anodized wheels...LOVE IT!)

Good call, Jim. He was asking $8.8K... a couple years ago.

The car came across RL but no one bit at that price. Car has a decent repaint, but not original.

Neither is my '84, but it is better than decent, it is really super nice...especially when you consider it is 18 years old (repaint was in '92)! That car is VERY nice...I am surprised no one bought it...maybe not as nice in person as it looks in the pics...looks awesome though!
