Default Instrument Cluster

A continuation, but needs new thread. Summary: had the pod out, replaced bulbs, re-installed. Turn key, all insturments dark, no start, no click. Battery shows 12.5, put trickle on over night, got it started, up to temp, shut off, battery dead. Got new battery, time constraint, not installed yet. While it was running, status is PNDR32 bulbs still inop (R works) LOTS OF CURSING. Other warning lights, etc appear normal, yea. Gauges not so good. Temp came up as = normal. Oil stayed pegged at 5, then slowly seemed fluctuate a little, but should go to 3 at idle, never did that. Volts, stayed at 14, no fluctuation, shouldn't do that. Fuel stayed at 1/2, could be correct, seemed to agree with other computer calculations like range. Is it possible they come back to life slowly (some computer info data logging necessary?)

The air bag had been out. "Air Bag Malfunction" There are only two screws and the pin connector involved, pretty hard to screw up. I pushed the (!) button and the lettered message went away, but the separate light in pod stayed lit. Is there a way to clear that?

TIA.

You have to clear the air bag warning with the Bosch Hammer. It will come on every time you start your car otherwise. PRDR32 fault could be a problem with the neutral safety switch. My oil pressure stays at 5 for a really long time before it goes down to 3, so that may not be a problem. (Or I've got a problem with mine, but I don't think so.) Volts should stay at 14. That's fine, I believe.

I think fuse 25 or 26 may control the dash illumination. It is not listed as such, but check those fuses.

So, does anybody on Long Island have a Hammer? I might have a lead, but couldn't hurt to locate whatever is avail. I suppose a dealer would be an option?

Rick:
I'm thinking the black electrical tape over the individual light is going to be the answer at least for now.

If you want a more permanent/professional fix, they sell black Duct tape at Home Depot.
