No AC
No rear wiper is slightly unusual too.
When it was fedralized, headlamps were changed, speedo changed, and US corner markers were added.
In 1991, cats and smog equipment were added to allow the car to reside in CA (San Juan Capistrano). I'm not yet sure if the car had a factory smog pump. Early engine pics would lead me to believe it did.
I have H4's for it, along with a downpipe section from an '80 ROW.
Just have to double check p/n for that.
I have to find a KMH speedo and front electric fan.

Tass,
Interesting and gracious offer!
The letter also reads "(color not recorded)" which to me means they were guessing.
I spoke with Rob Budd at the Frenzy, and he has the stuff to do the job.
We also spoke about the whether or not it necessary to be "all original" to the n'th degree. Can liberties be taken?
I have to do alot of research on original restoration. Long way to go.
Experience and opinions are welcome!

Jim-
Ron Perry (perryS4) was a staff photographer at R&T, he might be able to put you in touch with Joe Rusz. I have the R&T 1977-94 road test compendium, I can make a scan of it for you.

Thanks for the offer Rob.
I have it as well and have scanned it as well.
I must say I wouln't have had the know-how to buy this car if it wasn't for all the 928 books I'd collected over the years. That and Rennlist were indispensible.
I remember Perry... just recently sold his S4 beauty. I hope he get another one someday... nice guy!
Could you make contact with him on my behalf?

Jim, First , great talking about the car with you at Frenzy. Second Thanks for considering my shop for the exterior restoration. It is one that deserves the whole nine yards!

Porsche NA is looking for old ones like this.

Porsche NA is looking for old ones like this.
Thanks.
I submitted it last week and last submissions were taken Sept. 30th.
Winner TBD by to this week, posted to the website next week.
PCNA is looking for the older 928 in the US to commemorate Porsche's 60th anniversary.
They are using "retail age" documents to make their determination.
I did not have any retail age documents to submit. Instead I sent the 2 page Porsche letter.
We will see...

I saw the work you did on Kevin's and Gary's 928!
I would agree the whole nine yards are in order, I'm just not sure what that entails.
