Said it was designed and created by the Porsche Museum.
It's a nice piece, weighty, about 5" diameter.
It also came with hardware which I imagine could be used for mounting on a plaque, or on the car itself.

Cool Jim. If we had big chrome grills, I'd mount it on the car ala mercedes collectables. In this case, wall mount.
Looking at your ce panel, looks like the fuse 22 holder is heat soaked - that's for the fuel pump. Make sure there are no issues - that gets too hot, then you have a ball of fire. Mine had that too - did a whole ce panel R&R (following sharkskin's excellent write up), and cleaned all electrical connections at the pump, etc. No more problem, no more heat soak, and cleared out fire risk.

Clark H. was the guy who owned Number Six for almost 20 years.
Apparently, he picked the car up from the mechanic of a Las Vegas casino owner; the mechanic being an agent, the owner being the casino guy.
Clark confirmed the car had US corner markers and MPH speedo when he bought it, though he himself had the car prepared to pass CA smog.
He listed the car on Ebay back in 2003, where he received contact from a German who claimed to own Number Five, although he said the car was in pieces.
He made contact with Olaf Lang (deceased), Porsche Marketing Dept, who said the museum would buy it back if it was restored.
His intent was to hold onto the car for a time, and keep the miles down until he was prepared to restore it. Circumstances forced the sale.
He said he replaced the clutch and steering rack. Yea!
I really enjoyed taking with Clark - a very nice guy who cleary appreciated this car.
So everyone, it looks like I'm in the hunt for an 80's casino owner who owned a red 928. Shouldn't be hard at all...
