^^^ Brian, yes.
#6 will be in Pittsburgh on July 14-15, at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix http://pvgp.org as one of the featured cars,
hosted be the Allegheny Region PCAcelebrating 40 years of the Porsche 928.
I know you will be there and can't wait to see your 928 beauty,
Just wanted to plug the event for those following along. It's going to be a great one!

^^^ it's still in the family so to speak, and will be another feature car at PVGP.
Cool thing is that will be the first time #1 and #6 have seen each other since Germany ca. 1978.

Very, very cool.
Folks may not realize how truly close these two cars were to lonely, obscure endings.
And how one guy with a passion for 928's pieced the puzzle together and created basically a virtual museum of 928 bedrock for all of us. Visionary.
This is an incredible chapter in Porsche enthusiast history. I hope Porsche and the folks in the auto media explore and present this story.
Kudos to Jim. Also to Ed who is also forever connected to the 77 / 78 story and who has encouraged Jim along the way, and who also has the vision to feature these cars in Pittsburgh. Wow. I've had a ringside seat for this as a mostly casual observor and the show keeps getting better.

BTW, Jim, you do remember that your little girl Quinn is fully qualified in 928 fusebox work? We've got it on film somewhere, working on a 87 S4 panel removal with a screwdriver.

Thanks Jim for the plug (although the ARPCA link in your post takes you to a church site, not out of line since we do worship these cars Anyway, the club link is www.arpca.com rather than dot net). Cannot wait to see you Jim!
And thanks for the kind words Chris. There is a nice group of us guys who especially love these early ones. And you were right there with Jim to pull #1 out of obscurity

^^^ Chris, thanks for kind words.
Can't believe it's been 7 years since my early 928 craziness started! Thanks for being a part of the journey, you're a great friend. Call me if you want to caravan with me to PVGP, meet you on the Pike.
PS. That Quinn vid was really neat! Goto youtube, search jadz928.

Primary electics finished, all good. Moving into secondary electrics shortly.
I love an early date code code, check out that relay!
And what's with those 'gold chrome' tailights? Cool stuff.

Secondary electrics, gauge cluster rebuild... to include repairing trip counter and reset.
Cool early date code on the gauge cluster, with #6's birth date.
And a restored clock set to to only time that matters...

This early hv head is a thing of beauty!
We now have proof that Porsche intended to light the blower switch ****. Always suspected such, but here's an example... however a failed design attempt (fiberoptic light-pipes were always marginal on the 928).
Early slider ***** are different than the new replacement.
To keep your early original look, get a couple new ones and cut off the front, cut off the broken end of the olds ones, then glue together. Worked like a charm!
