1979 possible clutch issue
Hi all, I was referred here by the PO. Reading through some threads and the FAQ it seems this is a great community. I just purchased my first Porsche, a 1979 928. The car has several after market changes which were added 2 owners ago. Racing seats, no back seats, and a push button starter. The PO said the transmission was heavy and tight (more so than his other 928's).
The car was purchased about 150 miles from my home. We drove nearly all the way home. The gears didn't catch until the clutch was released almost all the way (I'm not sure if this is normal or not). After around 140 miles of driving, at a stoplight, the car basically broke down. It would not go into 1st or reverse. We managed to use 2nd to pull of the road, but once we pushed the clutch pedal again, the car wouldn't go into any gear. The shifter wiggles around but feels strange and the car won't come out of neutral.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I can take pictures of things if needed. I was able to find a torrent with Porsche 928 workshop manuals, are the ones highly recommended to get a hold of? I understand these cars can be a lot of work and I am, as of now, unfamiliar with them, but am willing to learn.
Also, if anyone has suggestions to help diagnose the problem, please explain explicitly what I should do.
Thanks in advance!

first check the brake master reservoir make sure it has Castrol fluid to the seam .
next get under the dash and look at the boot where the clutch pushrod goes see if its wet with fluid.
next get under the driverside of the car and see if the clutch line is leaking or the slave is dripping fluid

the car can be driven without the clutch but you have to be good at not stopping and meshing the gears,
start it in 1st gear make sure there is nothi9ng in the front of the car as you wont be able to stop unless you pull it out of gear or shut off the engine.
THIS advice is for experienced drivers
