Default 928 S4 Sunroof-front and rear seals

Quick question -

First, i was able to remove the front seal easily.

Second, to the question. How do you remove the rear seal? Is it held differently than the front?

I'm afraid if is removed its going to be a trick to have it re-installed.

Im removing the seals to prep for a repaint.

thanks

I need to post three times in order to be active, so thanks for letting me post here. The front and rear seals are available at Pelican Parts. I think they may also have instructions on their website. Indy 500 or Bust this weekend !

NW vista - My wife and I will be there. ill double check the website now. Let hope for a safe and rain free race. take care

I found the part but no write ups - looks like its just forced into place. Similar to the front seal.

My 38th race ... top of SW Vista.

What seals exactly are these, on the body or the sunroof panel?

Just pull it off. No trick. I`m assuming your replacing them both with new seals. The trick I used to re install new seals was to give the seal a little stretch in the area your installing. It narrows the seal and makes it easier the slide in the grove on panel. Make sure you push it back to original shape/length (not stretched)before you trim off excess on ends. If not you may find it shrinks and you have a gap. Dang, this sounds clear as mud . sorry

Location-on the sunroof, back seal.

Really, I just wanted to remove the seals for a repaint on my sunroof. I scratched the sunroof while removing it to fix a broken drive cable.

Seals - They don't look to bad. No cracks or tears.

You have to remove the rear drain plate to take out the rear seal, but I'm sure you've done that?
