Thanks for all the replies. I have asked for a few more quotes.
I saw that post. It was Uship and so far i have received three quotes all of them well above $1500.
I used FedEx to go from Southwest Florida to NJ. Cost was about $1250. Could have gone cheaper, but the savings just did not seem worth it. Total ship time was about 4 days. Be aware, when I shipped in May 2010, FedEx required an extra $500 if you want your car picked up on a specific day - this may still be the case. Overall, I think they did a perfect job of shipping and I would not hesitate for a second to use them again. Of course there are no guarantees you'll have the same experience.
Also, someone in the last 6 months on RL posted about shipping companies, and said they got a bunch of companies to submit competitive quotes, one of which was FedEx. I'll bet the price was lower than the FedEx premium especially if they had empty space on a truck going in your direction they knew they could not fill otherwise.

P.S. I got the rear top spot on the truck, and below me was a Model T Ford (bottom rear spot) when they dropped off my car.
