Thanks for all the responses and insight. Marine Blue, I sent you a couple messages.
Points made about the 95's are good ones and probably not the car for me ($$ and I don't really desire a collector model). On with my search, thanks again!

It had 40K miles and upgraded springs, Koni externally adj shock, and DEVEK sway bars. I was very apprehensive before delivery as it was the first car I bought without seeing and driving it in person first. After the price was agreed on Michael put new tires on it, had it professionally detailed, got a second key from dealer, and transported it to me. The car was everything he promised.

That car is awesome!

GTS's are great investments. I've had my '93 5spd for 2 years and put 7k miles on it (presently has 49k miles). Acquired for $36.5k and put about $10k into it between maintenance and upgrades. I haven't lost a dime, IMO.

I'll give you $15,000, cash for it right now :icon107:

David,

I recall when you got that car...I agree, I think you are still even at this point! I paid a bit more for mine and despite how freakin' awesome they are no one ever stepped up with $44k for my (then 48k miles) '94 GTS over the last 3 years since I initially listed it for sale... I think it is even nicer now...extra pair of rear wheels, Paul Champagne stuff inside, refinished wheels on the car, EVERYTHING works, all maintenance up to date...now 55k miles, won the street class Concours at OCIC last year...frankly I don't think I would even take $44k for it at this moment...not that anyone would offer anyway...hell I had it listed at $43k or something like that and never even got a bite!

Am now into it for a little bit more than the initial purchase price...... :)

Rob, your car sure is BEAUTIFUL man! Love it! I think I like the HRE wheels better than the ones in the last pic. I have ALWAYS been a fan of the HRE's though! Glad to have your old Cup I's I have to say!

In to it for a little more than the purchase price, by that I think you mean you have spent as much on it as the initial purchase price! I suspect it is a real stormer now though! Didn't Greg do the full meal deal on that car for you???? Bore/stroke, the whole 9 yards?! Not sure how you will keep rear tires on the thing!

If you can wait....prices will go up!

I've owned a 356 1959 Speedster that at the time I sold for 4,500 and now sells for 125,00 + and a Jaguar XK 150 "S" sold it for $2,000 and it sold 5 years ago for $95,000 - So you got some thing special hang on for the ride and enjoy.

Best

Rob,

Your car is king daddy mac. Clean as hell and stroked. Motor looks day-one stock, but is putting down some awesome power. If I had the cash, even though mine is running perfect, I'd send it to Greg for that same treatment, exhaust and all. But alas, I am broke.

Rob Edwards 09-29-2010 08:23 PM

David-

That's alright, so am I. :)

You won the arms race, though, with great style. Best of the best.

Good thing it was a '93 that blew up. Since it's repainted, 100K miles, non-original engine, shaved rub strips and rear wiper, it's now a nice canvas for all the great upgrades that exist for these cars now. Had it been a lower miles '94 or '95 without a sick motor, I would have felt even worse than I do about blowing it up (of course, it wouldn't have been $22K either.....)

The original owner lived in Long Island, NY. That's where I bought the car.
