I had a Lein service research this within CA, and Ohio where the car was last titled.

The previous owner was not found thru about 6mo of public announcements and other hoops that Ohio wanted, and after all that hassle Ohio certified the title as abandoned and free, with the corresponding notarized paperwork from the Ohio DMV.

The shop here the car came from, is a Bonded DMV Certification agent as well.

With all that in place, we felt very confident.

Unless you were the when the car came off the trailer, you really don't know the real story behind all this. You probably didn't do anything wrong but the title company's procedure sure stinks.
