A friend of mine was riding with a buddy. Buddy said take the wheel, he took the wheel, buddy then pretended to violently turn the steering wheel hard left. The sight of this caused the woman in oncoming traffic to react and steered off the road sliding across someone's yard and finally stopping from the tires grinding into the soil.

All joking a side, even the best case scenario in a gun fight is not that good.

This leads me to another point. Here's one problem in our society. Individually, it makes no logical $$$ sense for anyone to chase down a criminal who most likely is both dangerous and penniless. Just filing the insurance claim makes more sense. But if everyone (irrationally) fights crime whenever they see it, this will turn into one safe society and there will be very few criminals out there. The other side of the coin is that if no citizen fights crime when they see it, we would have to have a police state to stop crime and even then it would not be effective.

I really think that there is a valid reason why the crime rate is so much lower where honest people can be armed.

I guess it depends on the person to decide what is right for them.

I knew when I started the chase that my car would get fixed regardless and that it might not end well, but it was the only choice I could make.

Call it honor, pride, upbringing or what ever, i just could not stand there and let them drive away.

It has nothing to do with the car, I can fix the car, it is doing what is right.

That is the way i see it.

You need new friends, that was a stupid thing to do, some one could have gotten killed over nothing.

I think the fight or flight reflex pumps chemicals and fires neurons from the hippotalamus as long as you don't know if you are going to fight or flee. If you waited fifteen minutes in a stand off without knowing which way it's going to go, that's likely a large overdoze. Much more so than an actual fight.

Sorry about your car but a great story.

All the better when the good-guy wins.

I think if you know Greg, even a little, you would know he wouldn't stand there and watch those guys drive away. Plus, what a great story. I know if I ever had a circumstance where I was in a chase, I would be in my frickin land rover or something.

the problem with a situation like this, it's a 50/50 chance that either party will die if it comes to shooting...possibly both

we like to think we are Wyatt, but it's as much luck, as it is skill...
we are all 'commandos', but even the real ones, SeAL's, Rangers, etc., die in large numbers, killed by an 'inferior' enemy...but dead none the less

I'm not leaving my family behind over a car, or any 'thing'
I don't want to live with having killed someone over a car...
I'm sure as heck not participating in a high speed chase (where I could kill an innocent), while armed, over a minor hit & run
now to protect them? whatever it takes...

to each their own...

I do not want to hurt any one either, but I will be damned if I am going to be wronged and just let it slide, that is just not going to happen.
