Wowzers. We have cars there that can't even be called cars because there is so much rust. Whole body panels perforated, suspension points rusting off and wheels collapsing. I think I would like your way. Many people here in the US are driving piles of crap that shouldn't be allowed on the road because it is their "right" to drive. They can't afford to keep a car up and are endangering everyone by driving these death traps. If they are having trouble coming up with money for fuel, they can't afford to own a car.

I know the feeling. The following was when my car was bone stock, running at over 5000 ft altitude. Not bad for a 15 year old car with 125K miles on the odo and nothing but routine maintenance.

Germany is a wet sea climate zone.So old cars are often full of rust.It´s cheaper to buy a intact body in the US from the dry states than rebuilding the chassis from a 914 or other cars with bad rust protection.
This is one point why 928 are so cheap to buy.The body is bulletproof rust resistant and so there are a lot of cars.
The 928 has also an red light milieu image.Pimps drive this cars often in the 90´s.
It´s the same with MB 560 sec.

There is a touch of irony that in the US we can modify our cars for great speed and have such low speed limits and in Germany, where speed limits are higher, Germans find it much tougher to alter their vehicles.

I'm so envious. I literally don't drive anywhere anymore.
Parts runs to Rogers is about 5 miles. Corner store is .7. Grocery is 1.3. Ballet (not for me fkers) is 2.5. A tank of gas lasts me about 3 weeks, but it's at 14 MPG.
Damn, I really need to get out of the house once in a while.

Every third car is a cop on LSD, probably the worst place in the world to do 95 mph. Although can't say that I never did it when I was in school in chicago, driving my 928 S3.
