A/C Condensate Dripping on Exhaust
I put a rebuilt a/c compressor on my car this summer and got my a/c working nice but the condensate drips right on top of my x-pipe. I had the car up on the hoist today after driving with the a/c on and tried to locate the exit point of the condensate but the heat shield was blocking my view. I was hoping that it would just be a matter of extending a drain hose but it looks like I will have to remove my x-pipe and some heat shields just to see were the condensate is coming from. Has anybody extended the a/c condensate drain on there cars? It appears the condensate is dripping on top of the drive shaft.

The drain exits right above the driver's side of the torque tube. Are you worried about the drainage hurting the X-pipe?

I'm pretty sure it's normal. My GT does this as well.

Tis normal.

Thanx for the excellent picture Rob. I could just see the rubber drain on my car but I couldn't tell for sure
if that was it. Normal or not I do not like the condensate dripping on my hot pipe. I will be making an extention hose for that drain fitting and routing the water away from the pipe. Regards Jarrod Leis |
