Exactly. It really is just that simple IMO. If it starts and runs as it did before then forget about it. If it doesn't start or it runs like a 3-legged dog, CONGRATULATIONS! You're about to be the proud owner of two new/rebuilt heads.

Oh, and a compression test that would just finish it off.

Eventually it might need to be pulled and fixed. Even that is fairly straightforward.

But give these engineering guys with experience a chance to help. Neither Stan nor 76 has missed yet.

Well, I may have been a Mitsubishi guy in the past, but I have experience with bent valves and its very easy to bend a valve (as u probably know).

Will be interesting to see the outcome of this problem. Any updates OP?

Ok I just got back to this and here a a couple of pictures. As I was taking them I notice another misstake I made ( I really need to slow down)
I put the balancer on backwards and the nubers are upside down.
I am going to correct that and then see what is what ( I'm screwed )

Ok there is some problem with the site have a link broken so I will try to post the pictures later.

Ok Dave K came over and help me all day getiing everthing lined up and we did a compression test.
The motor is tost.
Passeger side tested from 162 to 115 and the driver side tested 0 all the way across.
Everything lines up where it should be.

So a engine pull is in my future.

Thanks to everyone for your help on this.

Thanks Dave for helping me all day!

Sorry to hear that. Lets now hope you can get back on the road with just a light machining of the heads, new valves and a lot of elbow grease. On the bright side you'll also have an opportunity to make the engine compartment shine.

good luck.
