Default cruise control brain

Is there a real differance in the cruise control brains from 87 to 88?

Thanks in advance.

I think the change took place in 89, but I am not 100% sure, if it has a blue box like "Thing" on the back of the CC brain it will not work on a 87.

No. We swap them around to test them, all the time.

Ok, thats great I've got a working brain from an 88 that I can swap out for my non-working 87.
Thanks Greg B.

The part number for the cruise brain changed in 87. The system also changed.
Pre 87 928 617 127 00

Both are still stand alone numbers within PET. I can also confirm what Greg already said. They are both swapable.

Well just damn, I just bought one for my 87 and had two of the later ones here, that is what I get for thinking I guess.

If you and GB say they will work, that is good enough for me.

Not that I don't trust GB - I have never done the swap personally just been told it is the case.
