Thumbs up You all deserve a collective beverage

I have just taken my 1980 9228S out of storage here in Norway, as it can be taxed under the 30 year veteran rules.

During the past two weeks, I have had great fun using it, and plenty of surprises that have stopped me using it. I have had my fair share of problems already, and I have used Rennlist to solve these problems:

CIS system warm start traced to injectors and regulator
Electric windows repaired at switch, and motor/gearbox stripped and cleaned
Gear lever ball socket jumped off - now wired down and I'm waiting for a new one
New speakers for the doors sourced and ordered

I couldn't have done this without you, and next time I drive out along the fjord for a (non alcoholic) beer, I will toast you all.

The car is in nice original condition (I still think so, even though she is being a bit awkward on me). It has about 170 000km on the clock and most services have been done according to the book. I have attached some images, to show her off.

Thanks again for all of your collective knowledge. I have a feeling that I am just scratching the surface.

Regards from a sunny Oslo

SimonC

In beautiful condition for a middle-aged lady!

I hope that you continue to enjoy it.

right back at you!

Enjoy your "new" car. And try not to get discouraged by the storage-related problems you have dealt with, as well as the ones you still have to face.

Well spottet Mrmerlin. It has an old mobile phone mountings - microphone and speaker, but no amp or control box. Anybody know if its possible to connect an Iphone through to these?

And, the pump lever fun stick is all over the place at the moment cos the ball joint has hopped off. Lost all gears on the motorway a few days ago. How any of you have managed to change that ball joint I don't know. I can hardly see it, let alone get my fingers to it. Do 928 users develop incredibly long and strong fingers?

Very nice! I can't belive how nice the interior has held up, appears to be no cracking at all. And paint appears to be in very excellent shape. How I wish mine were as neat and clean!
