Perhaps ...."A MOORING CONSISTS OF: Stripped and cleaned engine blocks, chain, shackles, and a
commercially made mooring buoy with eye bolts on both
ends. Chain length varies, depending on which location is
chosen. The amount of engine blocks depends on the size
used.
Once completed, moorings need......."

Oooh, Reynolds 390 aluminum alloy, more saltwater resistant than a string of Chebby small blocks. I got it- Mark sold them to Joseph for his planned Naval assault on Avalon. Yeah, that's it.

Presumably you knew of such an arrangement with SD Parks Division from your time working with Mark?

If not, then

So will future 928 owners be hunting for good used blocks in the kelp forests?

I have heard the term "only good for a boat anchor" for maybe 50 years just thought it was a joke.....then a few months ago saw a craiglist add where a guy needed someone to build him a mooring and he linked the instructions..... cracked me up !

Well I guess compared to the cost of a large yacht, buying 10 "porsche engines" for bragging rights in the marina is a drop in the ocean
