Put new injectors from five-0 and runs like it should.

Time to get it all the wires back in the holders and button things up.

Did you get 19# injectors or 24# injectors?

19# they are grey tops. Bruce at five-0 said that is what he has been selling for the S4 with good luck.

He has one more set of take-offs brand new. $211 shipped.

If it's take offs, it's not barnd new. Barely used but not brand new.

The original Ford 19lb injectors are orange. All 5L Mustnags have them. The 24lb units are found in the Linclon MArk VIII (4.6 DOHC) engines and are blue.
Maybe the aftermarket units are grey or some newer version of the originals but, the true originals are not grey.

Imo, these are new. Never ran on a car. They are Bosch.

For what its worth....... I emailed Bruce at five-o and ask him what his thought were on installing with no pintle cap. Below is his response:

Brad - You can install without the caps.

Bruce,
Purchased the 19# ford injectors for my 88 928. Can these be installed without the pintle cap? Issue is when they are removed the pintle cap comes off and falls down in the head. Have to pull the intake to get them out.

Thanks
Brad

Brad, it is very rare for the cap to come off of new injectors. I have only had one, maybe two that have come off on ones I've pulled. I think you just got a crap set of rebuilds the first go around. Keep them on there and don't give it another thought.

If you ensured that they were flush to the spout when installing (you would notice this when you put the proper o-rings on them) they will be fine.

I installed the new ones with the caps on. Info from Bruce was more of just an FYI.

Sean, thanks for all your help. Would still be putting the darn thing together if it were not for you and your tools. Tell Ang thanks again.

Car is running very good so far. Son just left in it for the first time.
Trailered it up to Sears to have alignment done today... will share that story with you at our next GTG.

Sears up here has a new service manager and he is a complete dick. Share the story here. He's just about lost all of my business. We got in a bit of a tiff and I had to go to his regional rep to get any sort of resolution. The *** about pissed away 3 years of past business relationship with his attitude.

Sears in Lewisville told me it had frame damage...and they could not physically get it on the rack... sits to low. I explained the boards, ect. Nope, cant do it.

Denton store gave me no trouble at all. The long haired tech, older gentleman, said he had not seen you in a while.

The big heavy set guy the new manager?

Who do you have do them now?

I'm still using Denton. He hasn't seen me in a while due to the fat *** pissing me off. The long haired guy is one hell of a great guy. If he didn't talk so much I'd hire him tomorrow. Glad to hear they got stuff working then, both lifts were "broken" for the past two months when I'd send a customer up there to get it done. I walked in there last weekend and had a nice chat with the fat ***.

Basically he said they were giving us too good of a deal and he didn't think he should be doing that, and that is why he was turning away a few people. I looked at him and Dennis (regional rep) and asked them if they wanted 10% of something, or 10% of nothing. Problem solved.

It makes me happy that they got you fixed up. Did they use the rack centering bolt I gave them?

Now if I could actually use that with my own, things would be set. Roger is a great mentor.
