Pick up the phone if you have inter-web security concerns and actually talk to Dave or Jeanie. You might be surprised how well it works.

No problems using Safari.

If you look at the bottom of their web page you will see a small note saying Safari and Firefox users click here. Works beautifully.

That works fine with Chrome also.

I've been using Firefox and Safari for years with no problem.

I've also found that "skin2" has the best UI for me, anyways.

here -> https://www.928gt.com/skin2.htm

You can get to this after you click on the splash page and then in the upper right hand corner underneath the search bar, click on "View 2".

And what's so odd about the "dot" notation for the part numbers? That's the way they are printed on the parts. I find the spaces in the PET part numbers to be a real PITA. YMMV!

It's always something.....

Website always works for me on Firefox but for some reason the e-mails don't get delivered from Texas.

I've always gone to the site and then clicked the View 3 link in the upper right. Works fine in all browsers. Could it be better? Sure. But at least there is a solution.

3000Teeth,

Glad someone finally got you to read the manual :-)

Concerning my website being "Pro-IE", while those that use the "non standard" browsers always seem to scream the loudest, you are way way in the minority.

Current Web statistics for my website Month to Date:

BROWSER USAGE

MS Internet Explorer 80 %
Firefox 12.3 %
Safari 6.2 %
Opera 0.7 %
Mozilla 0.3 %
Unknown 0.2 %
LibWWW

I will say that is the first time I have seen that Firefox has finally broken into the double digit percentages...first time ever in 10 years or so of watching the statistics reports, so maybe it is finally catching on a little :-)

While I have tried very hard to make my website compatible and usable by everyone (name another 928 site that has 6 different "skin/views" to accomodate user preferences), it is certainly optimized for IE...because like it or not IE is the Industry Standard and used by the majority of people...by far.

For all the experts that have built and managed a website with 40,000 products in it ... I am ALWAYS all ears for code improvements.

That's cool and nice to know that it works on the iPad, hadn't had the opportunity to check that yet. Thanks for letting me know!

Like I said, long time FireFox user, never had a problem.
I think most folks are just lazy or stupid and they just use IE, it is slow and even more important it is MS, that is why I do not use it.
Some sites you can not even get on unless you are using IE, so I think DR needs a thank you for making his site friendly to other browsers.

Thanks DR.

hey DR, just one small suggestion that wouldn't take much time...get a good browser sniffer script and put it on your homepage. It will redirect browsers automagically to the correct "skin/view", and you won't have to rely on people figuring out where to click

I used to have one on there, but some people were getting virus/script errors in certain browsers and even accused me here on Rennlist of trying to spoof their clipboard contents. Soooo, I removed it.

That's the problem. no matter what you do to try help, someone else bitches about it.....grrrr!

BUT, that was a few years ago and I'll look into some later versions. Any links would be appreciated.

Thanks!
