Default 79 car

Is this an original color from the factory? That's what the seller is claiming, but
I've never seen it before. The car looks nice, but I think I've seen it before on ebay. No affiliation. Wonder if it's legit?

That's a nice-looking car.

Did Robert B. ever get his OB?

Petrol blue over cork. However, I have never seen a such color difference between seats and rest of the interior - is the flash playing tricks here, or were those redone at some point?

Too bad the dash has some cracks, and the paint has faded in a few places. Front fender has been repainted.

I doubt it will fetch top dollar in this condition, but it might be a nice project for someone who wants to bring it back and enjoy (rather than resell) it.

Hope it finds a good home!

Looks great. You need it. I'll pick it up, drive it to you and will even buy gas.

He probably picked it up for $2500, spend a $1000 on it with the tune up and trying to flip it for $10000!

Interior looks good other then the dash cracks and it definitely needs a body job.

Joking right? You guys must be blind??? This car is a POS. Did you look at the link with additional photos? The car has bubbling rust in two spots on the right rear quarter panel, dents and scrapes all over the car AND the left front fender and hood are both different colors which are both different than the rest of the car...... The interior is a hodge podge of mismatched vinyl.... The front seats are a different material/color than the rears and the door inserts are cover in the same junk without the correct stitching.... This car is worth about 1/3 of his BIN..... IMHO of course.

It definitely needs a complete repaint. And I had a suspicion that the interior was redone cheaply at some point. But that may not be so much of an issue for a daily driver.

Agreed that the BIN is far out there.

Looks like the clear coat is about gone on the rear bumper and maybe on the upper halves of the rear quarter panels. That is exactly how my 79 petrol blue rear bumper looks.

I love the ad "A SIMPLE COAT OF PAINT ON THIS PUPPY AND IT'S CLASSIC CAR SHOW TIME..". Ya a simple $7000 paint job and you are good to go!

BTW, I do LOVE the color combo! I bet at one time this car was a stunning 928.... At the right price if the miles are accurate it would be a great candidate for restoration back to its original glory.

I just want to drive one cross-country like Capt. Earl did.

Ugh. Pics. Needs to deduct > 1/2 asking price.

No engine pics? Looks like it rides too high in the front.

The vinyl on the seats looks like the untextured shiny stuff they put on booths at cheap diners. The rust under the gas filler door looks evil. You don't get that from sitting in a garage unless it has no roof. But the U-Haul trailer looks pristine!

With the shrinkage on the lower part of the seat wouldn't they have to be leather, or an amazingly poor reupholstery job?

Anybody do an autocheck (put 7 blanks at the front of the vin)? 9289200508

Found this doing a google on the vin, sold two weeks ago on ebay for $2030. The ebay pictures from the original listing show a missing rubber pad on the brake pedal and wear on the driver bolster that doesn't exactly scream 50k miles to me.
