Default Euro S2 Heads For Sale

Guys have a pair of heads that I will never use, they came off a 85 MY car and I have sold the valves years ago to another Rennlister who had timing belt failure. So the heads are bare however I may be able get some valves but that wont be included in the price I list here. The other thing and it is a rather big thing is that one cylinder has been ported including the chamber work.

So that means that you will have to do the other cylinders, so it is not as cheap as the first price seems. I don't have the flow sheet but I can remember the conversation. We were shooting for 250 cfm, nice round number never got there. I believe the range was 238 to 240 cfm. That is quite respectable at over 96 cfm per sq" of valve area at 0.500" lift. S lift is 0.472". That is a big number and world class for wedge heads and better in fact than the standard 4 V Porsche head 0.500" which is around 90 cfm.

Just for the sake of , 80 to 85 cfm is a very good wedge head. (Aftermarket) Some of the very best 2 valve heads, the Chevy SB 2.2 Nascar head is a canted shallow angle head and flow 98 to 99 cfm per sq" at 0.500". When I increased the valve size for my big engine I was only able to get 85 cfm per sq" and the factory got 86 cfm per sq", as I mentioned in the other thread, shrouding and increased friction of the air may have played a part in that number. So that is some perspective.

The exhaust has also been done and to be quite honest I can't remember the numbers but if you go to the 2 V headflow Figures Project update thread. Use the EX PORTED 1 numbers as the same fellow ported both heads. The exhaust is certainly not a problem on these heads.

The other thing is that despite the porting the port entry has not been enlarged. That is important as most of you know I already believe the S ports are too big to start with but they are smaller than the 4 V heads. 4 V heads are around 20% larger than these ports so these will have better airspeed regardless of what I think. The heads are free of corrosion, they are excellent in that regard.

So your options will be to either copy the port work, yourself or professional or you can have my guys finish the job at cost price. I will have to get a price on that but I would think around $500 but you will pay cost, what ever that is plus Paypal fees on that part of the cost. I am after $500 for the pair how they stand. Shipping to the U.S. would be $230 via seamail. Will sell locally also.

I have photos of the portwork for those who are genuinely interested. I also have some valves, springs and retainers for one head that I can throw in but they are used and not brilliant. If the heads do sell I can buy the other 944 head and strip the valve gear and throw that is too for another $50.

I think the price is fair, it not tell me, I did spend quite a lot just getting the port design right, they still need some hand finishing, around 15 to 30 minutes per cylinder, so really what am I recovering is about $50 each for the heads.

So if you are interested let me know and if you want a price on the portwork let me know and I will get you a firm price. You will be asked to pay for the heads and then pay for the portwork and shipping when the job is completed.

Thanks

Greg
