89' 928 S4 illuminate center P R D mod ?
I'm new to the forum but have owned several 928's over the years, the last of which was an auto 95 GTS. I performed a mod on that car to illuminate the P R D etc. in the center above the 4 switches.
I just took delivery of an 89 auto S4 and I would like to illuminate it, but I cannot find the instructions that I had when I mod'ed the GTS.
Can anyone please assist with providing information on how to do this illumination mod.
Thanks, in advance, as any help is much appreciated.

There is a light socket for the older models (up to 84 or 86, I believe) that you can retrofit to the later models as well. Any of the 928 parts suppliers should be able to get it for you.
Then you have to remove the console side panel on the drivers side, and move the "fingers" that hold the shifter plate in place. Lift it out, install the illumination, and reinstall everything.
Best of luck!

The harnes and bulb holders are avialable but the bracket that holds them in place is not.
Harness is 928 612 172 01 and $27.
The bracket could be made very easily I am sure.
