I was trying to increase my bid as we were loading into the tower of terror at Disney. When we unloaded the auction was over and my bid hadn't gone through. Oh, well.

Benton,

when looking at the high bidder it didn't show much feedback.
I just tried to sell a truck recently on there and the bidder had no real feedback and never heard from him at all.

I was remarking today how lucky it was that I happened to be next to a computer during some downtime on the 4th. I ended up on the good end of that deal. Barbecue/lake/family time during lunch on July 4th can't be high time for ebay traffic!

I'll let you guys know how it looks once I get it. Hopefully I will have it back at the shop in a week or two. I'm pumped about driving it; I've never had a 928 street car to drive--just the race car and parts cars. The only modifications that stand out needing to be changed are the rear muffler coffee cans and the gauges in the center console, and I will be putting a factory steering wheel back on.

I didn't take any offense from that, I assure you. I was just having a conversation earlier about how easy it is to get off from the "binding" auction victory.

I think you're looking at the old listing from May (winning bidder had 1 feedback). The winner of the current auction has a lot more feedback (386).

Mark,

Got the parts! Thanks mucho! Keep us posted on this car. Hope it is everything you thought it was when you bid! It is hard to buy stuff like this without having eyes on so to speak!

Good to hear, James--thanks again. I will post up once I get the car and plan on documenting my refresh of the car.

Sorry, I giggled a bit over this.
So was it CRAP or SWEET?

Well, we will find out... it WAS sweet...that was 10 years ago. It does not take 10 years for a car to go from sweet to a pile of junk! I know folks who can accomplish that feat seemingly OVERNIGHT! That said, I thought this car had come up some time in the last year and that it had been looked at by a member here and reported it had gone to hell in a handbasket.

Mark will find out soon enough! Remember one mans trash is another mans treasure too! So, what one person reports as a pile of junk may be a diamond in the rough to you or me!

Amazing how someone can pan a car repeatedly that they have never laid eyes on.

I have seen the car on two occasions and neither time did I come away thinking "**** Box".

Had it not been for bad timing it would be in my garage right now.

Brian,

I HAVE seen the car but not of late (and maybe you are not even referring to me but...) I just recall a thread here about a car that used to belong to the same guy that owned this car and they said they had seen it and thought it needed a lot of work... Maybe a different car...Mark has owned a LOT of 928's over the years and more than a few of them were red. This one maybe great...never cared for his taste in exhaust pipes, but you always knew when you were looking at one of his cars that is for sure!

I hope the car is friggin' awesome!
