EXACTLY!! Keep it.

Wait about 3 or 4 years and buy that 2011 Boxster Spyder for $10k, by which time your 928 GT will be worth $10k more than it is now.

If you want a daily driver, get a car that is not as special and unique, and can be maintained easily. This is not it.
But in the end, it is only a car and cars were made for driving. Everything wears out and if you want to enjoy the car, as the designers meant and not to be put on a pedestal, then just buy it and drive it.

What's the most a GT has sold for in the last couple of years?

I'm sure you agree that the wear and tear on a daily driver is much different from the wear and tear of a fun car that only gets taken out in good weather and touched with clean hands.

This car is not built for daily driver treatment. If you use it as a daily driver, it will deteriorate faster than a standard 928. Much faster.

Then you have wasted all that's special about it. Which would be OK, if you could just go and buy another one to replace it.

But you can't. They just don't make 90 GT models with Exclusive interiors anymore...

You might want to get the A/C working before looking for top $$$ so that it is a non-issue. Especially because summer is here...

Thanks Nicole, this is exactly the reason why I don't drive it long distances. There have to be at least a handful of cars which remain in original factory condition, this one has options that would cost a fortune to reproduce it would never be restored if destroyed.

As noted, can/will be repaired before purchase or I will credit back $700 which is more than it will cost to repair. Everything has already been sniff tested and checked for proper operation by a 928 Expert . Parts are already on hand.

I would strongly suggest that if you want top dollar for the car it need nothing when you talk to a potential buyer. If I were the buyer and you told me the AC didn't work I would have two immediate reactions. First, I'd wonder what else was wrong with the car and second, I'd offer a lot less just b/c of the unknown. Unless it's fixed, it's an unknown. If you have the parts, get it fixed......

The materials used at the time - particularly the linen leather - were not as durable as they are today. You'd soon see some serious wear that deteriorates the value of the car. Then someone would damage one of the special leather covered items, and no one could repair it to match the others, or would want to spend the money to have it done properly.

Next thing you know, there is a hodge-podge of "home made" cheapo fixes and nobody would remember which ones are original, and which ones are not. The US has then lost one of a hand full of original Exclusive cars that will never be replaced or properly restored...

If you want a daily driver, get a car that is not as special and unique, and can be maintained easily. This is not it.
Right on Nicole!!

You should contact him... Maybe he'll pay your asking price and find a really good home for it.

Afshin, I hate to see you sell your GT, it's easily one of my favorites here. I too like the Boxster Spyder as well, though.

The A/C repair timing isn't in my hands. I'm very particular about who touches this car and I won't bring it to just any A/C Shop. I'm hoping to get the work done either next weekend or the weekend after. Will have to wait and see.

Wow, Afshin! Amazing car! I've never seen pictures of it, just the rumors. But what's that rusty spot in the socket of your lug wrench??! -2 pts!

A Boxster, huh? Talk about a dentist's wife's car!! How about a nice Cayman S? You can get a 3-year-old CPO Cayman S for even money on the GT.

Good luck with the sale!

I wouldn't even offer a potential buyer money off and would state right up front that it will be fixed b/f sale. It's been my experience that when you have a car priced at the top of the market you will have plenty of time to get it fixed. Again, GLWS - you're going to mix this one.....
