Default Big Al's 928 Euro for sale

I am offering my 1984 Euro for sale here first. The people here in the 928 forum have been fantastic. I have been helped many times by experienced 928ers and I will never never forget them.

I want $8000.00 firm here on Rennlist. If I can not sell it here I will list it for 9000.00 elsewhere and will stay firm on this price until sold. This car has some of the best add ons for euros. Including the 85 headers with X-pipe and 3 inch exhaust. I have it antiqued in Virginia. PCA had my car in the circle of excellence last year at a German car show in Vienna Virginia.

The reason I am selling is I have no garage. I am in my early 50s and it is starting to wear on me to uncover the car and spend at least 2 hours washing and preparing every time I want to take it out for a spin. I have never drove it in the rain and according to the previous owner he never drove it in the rain. Here in the forums you will find many pictures posted by me and proof documented that it had a top up engine rebuild just 3 years ago. I barely put on 1000 miles since then. Mileage is around 85000. It had 79000 when i purchased it 5 years ago.

I plan on staying in the 928 community and when I get another house with a garage repurchasing another Porsche. It has been a great ride But I promised myself when I stop having fun with the car I would sell it. That time has come. If anyone would like to come by and see it let me know. My email address is alajoh@***.net.

It's about a 22 hour drive I guess. How's the A/C?

Very nice. I'm starting to think of trading my GTO to get back into a 928 down here in VA...but that would probably be unwise in the grand scheme of things.

Fairly close proximity to me, if that proves helpful to anyone. But, I'm not as familiar with the electronically injected Euros-- and the pix appear to do a pretty good job of speaking for themselves.

Auto. No blue hose....

I met Big Al and his Euro at Frenzy last year.... great guy and a top notch car.
Didn't drive it but it looked great parked. The black paint job is really good!

The AC was never vacuumed down after the top engine rebuild. It worked before the rebuild. The AC system was upgraded to the latest R.

It is an auto. But, just last fall, routine maintenance, I had the tranny pan gasket and oil changed by Intersport (Porsche trained mechanic). He found no problems with the old oil and it looked good.

Oh, one more thing, I had the dash recovered by our friend in Michigan. While the pod was out I had all the little warning lamps relamped in the dash pod and any other lamp I found when the pod was out.

Hope this helps. I will probably let it here on Rennlist for a month then start advertising elsewhere. The longer it takes to sell, the time I have it will be fun.

Al lives near me and I have seen his car several times. It is truely a well maintained and sorted out Euro. Even with pictures and descriptions, you really can't appreciate what's been done to it unless you see and hear it for yourself.

I'm not following this. Was the compressor upgraded but then the system not charged? I guess it's the 'vacuumed down' term that I'm not comprehending....or if that means evacuating the refrigerant than what is the reference to latest R.
Thanks!

I'm a little puzzled by the numbers in the casting on the intake, too- is that the case with all the LH cars, US and RoW?
