I wish I could,

But maintaining a second shark
Is giving me a fright!

Sounds like someone could buy this one and drive it for quite some time before it really needs anything....

ROAD TRIP!!!!

Ed, if we fly out on Friday afternoon, and with both of us driving shifts (I call dibs on the plains leg!!), we could probably be back here with the car by Sunday evening. Just sayin'...

LOL!!!

Sorry Fred - 3 years ago I'd be on the plane already, but it can't come to my garage now. Good luck with the sale!

SOLD!
As I type this Fred's, er, my GT is cruising its way through Kansas on its way to my home outside Philadelphia with Earl Gillstrom at the wheel.
First I'd like to thank Fred for doing his best on his end to make this an easy & smooth process not only for the financial transfer but for his hospitality picking up Earl at the airport & putting him up for the night before he left for the trip home. It takes a lot of faith , trust & honesty to deal long distance with someone you've never met & Fred had it all in spades. Hopefully some day I'll get to meet Fred & we can drain a keg together.
But most of all I have to thank Earl for OFFERING to do this while we were discussing the sale of the car on the phone! I called Earl to get his opinion on the car & when I said I was going to hire a transporter to bring the car back he said " That's crazy. Pay my expenses & I'll fly out & drive it back"! Needless to say I'll pay him more than his expenses. But to me this adventure really shows what a great person he is & what an immense asset he is to the Rennlist community. I'm honored to be able to call him a friend.
This list is more amazing to me than ever. Meeting the calibur of people like Earl & Fred in pursuit of a hobby truly overshadows the pleasures that the cars provide. It galvanizes me in the belief that good people do still exist in a hobby that is infiltrated at times by fraud & deceit.
My only fear now is to try to continue & maintain the car at the level Fred has done. Unfortunately however, I will be driving the car for a while. Not in bad weather of course. But I do believe that cars should be driven. I will keep the mileage to a minumum as much as possible.
Now all I have to do is wait & pray for Earl's safe return. The car can be replaced but Earl is one of a kind!

Regards, Hammer

Hammer I also drove this car a few weeks ago, you wont be disappointed It is a spectacular piece of machinery and everything works as it should.
Fred is a meticulous owner and now you get to carry on with a great car.
Goodluck and you got a great price, Stan

Earl called me a few minutes ago 'in flight' down a Kansas highway and echoed your words about the car. Damn! This waiting until he gets here is stressfull!!
Thanks for all the best wishes. I'll do my best to keep up Fred's efforts.

Man I love the look of the P51's. Always been my favorite plane. I've gotten to see them at shows at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum every D-Day weekend. Do you own one Stan?

Blimey! If you're on I-70, as you approach Kansas City, feel free to stop by for a beer. I'm really close to the K-7 (Bonner Springs) exit.
