I want to make it clear that I'm not trying to subvert the sale here. I have no dog in this hunt. The car looks amazingly clean, and if you think you'll keep this car forever, then the title issue should not factor. Hell, I wish my car was as clean.
However, if you think you might sell it at some point in the future, you need to know its history. A messed up title history can really affect resale both in terms of price and time to sale. In my opinion, if the car had a clean title history, it would have sold by now at or near the asking price.

Yes, it's true, 18 years ago the GT was hit along the passenger side. The front fender and passenger door have different VIN #s on them. The passenger rear quarter panel was also worked on. Obviously a potential issue for some. The GT was up on a lift at the Denver 2006 OCIC tech session with everyone pouring over it and there's no damage. It won 'Best of Street' and the "People's Choice' award at the OCIC that year as well as taking first place for water cooled Porsches at the 2006 Gmund West.
Shady past from 18 years ago? Maybe...but all that's negotiable...

If the damage suffered from an accident is fully documented, why is replacing a fender & door any worse or 'shadier' than replacing a transmission or rebuilding a top end from a tb failure?
In fact, in most cases the quality (or lack of quality) of bodywork is way more evident than with mechanical work.
Give me a nice, well maintained car that's seen documented pass. side bodywork that's done so well that it's undetectable; over a car that's seen a top-end rebuild from a tb failure..any day of the week.

Fred did you mis type your numbers??
IIRC the asking price was 24,500.00
If the typing isnt a misprint then someone is really gonna get a great deal on your terrific car.
5,500.00 is a very big discount GLWS

That is a steal, my friend. Beautiful car. If anyone is interested in the car, I do have a set of GT D90 wheels (from 1990 model though, 1989 had CS wheels) for sale. They would need to be refinished to be worthy of going on Fred's car, though.

$19k is a lot of money. The car looks great. But the problem comes when it's time to sell (as you are experiencing). A wart on the title is a BIG deal.
Personally, if I was in the market and was never going to sell the car, I'd ****** it up. But if I thought I might keep it for a little while and then maybe sell it, I think it would have to be in the $15k range to overcome the title issues. All assumes that the car is in great condition - which it appears to be.
Just my opinion.

19k is a bargain for the car...... it's a 89 fer christ sakes...... Not a 90 or 91GT.... Everyone knows that a 89 GT (even with a slight issue) is worth more than the run of the mill 90 or 91 GT ..
good luck in the sale...it sounds like a nice car..

I'm heavy, AND biased...
...In favor of this car! The "title wart" and mileage count would give me the excuse to do more mods/customization to it than I am willing to do with my own '89GT. Plus I love red + cashmere!
So which wheels come with the car, the ones in Post #1 or the ones in Post #24?
Oh god, I shouldn't be thinking these thoughts....
