getting to the home stretch got the clutch figured out with a few new parts on the pedal assembly and some unadjusting of the pushrod.
Dash and console back together, ( the pictures make the mis matched parts look worse than they are) .
The Pod and gauges are in, headliner/ interior is done , working on getting the emissions to pass to get tags.
Check out the black headlight covers

Man, that is some seriously impressive work. That anyone can take a jumble of wires and parts like that and put them together to make something so good looking impresses the hell out of me. Wish I knew how to do even a fraction of that kind of work!
Inspirational to say the least.
Nice job.

When i was driving this car home at 345 am on the 91 out of LA 8 lanes of traffic still lots of cars , doing about 70 MPH , I heard a little rumble then the left headlight cover comes flying off, hits the windshield and its gone , now i am getting blinded by the light coming out the back of the headlight, no chance to stop as all the drunks are driving with me.
( I got some used headlight covers , I chose Black as they would blend in the best, the other headlight cover was 3 different colors before being painted Green and its covered with lots of clear overspray so i decided a new set is better)
A little while later after the sun comes up, the right windshield wiper bolt cover comes flying off , dances across the windshield and its gone I am like WTF what else is going to come off of this car.
I know where the PO was electrically speaking virtually every wire he touched was stripped off then twisted onto whatever the connection he was making then taped with either green or black elex tape or
I also found some duct taped connections, amazing how many little pieces of tape I found scattered all over this car.
Anyway it has taken lots of work and a good bit of cash to refurb this car to a DD, I still have more things to fix , slowly but surely .
Thanks for all the kind words

Pod and A pillars were redone by IIRC Rob Bud.
the dash came from 928INTL as a recovered vinyl dash the console is original and the glove boix was with the car when i got it so its a mismash of colors , perfect for a DD, you should have seen the mess the dash was when i got it go back to the front of this thread to see the mess

Nicole i dont think a Maaco paint job is in this cars future,
its already got a good paint job on it and its in presentable condition for a DD.
The nose has some minor paint damage but i touched it up with a bit of touchup paint
and am now starting to drive this car.
I took it up to Breckenridge last Saturday with some other P cars and the new MMs ,
it drove well and handled great.
I am still working on the ride height the back is too high and the front is too low.
This was the first real drive i have had it on, since driving back from CA

There's surely a lesson in here for potential owners. When you see a car that has danger words in the description, run like hell unless you have Stan's abilities and patience. What are danger words? They are usually prefaced with "It just needs..." or "I worked on the .... myself. It's really close!" "A friend helped me install a....". Or "Owned by a Porsche factory-trained mechanic." My hat's off to you Stan for the amazing save!

As a Fan of 85-86's, I have to say Nice Job, Stan!
Now, you need a set of Porken's chips and regulator- you won't believe how much it wakes up the car. Especially since it has an X-pipe! Mine passed Ca. smog WITH the chips in it....
