What else do you have Jerry?
Hi Steve. Thanks for your support. One other item that I have developed some time back is a redesign of the center armrest glovebox that is about an inch and half deeper than the original cassette box. These are made of the same ABS plastic I am working with and are covered with a layer of eighth inch closed cell foam and then covered in leather. They have the lid hinged in the back instead of the side. These are formed in four seperate pieces, so I find that they take about all day to complete one.

Because of the time involved, and not counting any of the development, which really went well, I was going to price these at about $350, but then, based on the lack of response I got when I casually mentioned these a time or two before, I decided that they are probably going to be too expensive. I have a hand full made that are almost complete, but I sltill have to adress one problem I found, at least with the prototype, and that is that after having it in one of my 928s for a while the leather on the lid got a little loose. I haven''t figured that out yet and will have to destroy part of the lid to fix it.

I am thinking that maybe in a week or so I'll post a new thread about the glovebox and see if there is some interest.

I also have the redesign of the rear hatch latch receiver liner, but that one is also a little more expensive than the later reproduction versions that look more like the original than mine does. I might still post a thread about those too just to see if there is still any interest. One thing in favor of mine is that one version of it is the only one designed especially for the 78 and 79 928s, which are different.

Thanks for asking.

Yesterday I bought a sheet of 3/16 inch ABS for some more of these covers. I was surprised a little to see how much the cost has gone up. At Just under $100 for a sheet plus the charge for cutting I am facing about $20 in material cost per cover. I am going to raise the price of these covers at the first of the month to $70 plus the shipping and handling.

Right now if you want one of these covers at the present price of $65 plus S&H I will ship one, but don't wait until after the first of the month for your order because it will be a little higher.

I formed a few of these today and will make a couple more this evening and perhaps tomorrow.

I was going to try to ship a couple this morning, but got tied up with a couple of old friends who came by to visit and missed the shipping window. I'll get Rick's and John's shipped on monday.

Several Guys have apparently found their way to this thread in the recent past because I have sold about one of these every three to four weeks. Now I am making another small batch of them, so if there is anyone who is interested I will be able to ship them this week.

The current price is $75 each plus $16.50 S&H domestic or $50 foreign shipping and handling. I have one going to Australia monday so hope that that cost still holds true. The cost of the material is now at an all time high, so I am sorry for the cost of these. It takes my just about an hour to make one. Each one is basically a one-off production, so there is no great benefit in volume.

I bought one of Jerry's covers in the first run, I think. It's bullet proof, like everything Jerry does. It will out last the car.

Just waiting for his new wheel well liners for the S4.

Thanks Jerry,
Joe

I still spent quite a bit of time today on the wheel well liners also. The real reason for these covers now is to help pay for some material I'll be needing to get the liners in production.

Thanks Joe andf MJ for your positive input on these covers. Thanks Tony for your continued interest in my plastic creations.

I made a small batch of these covers this weekend. I had two blanks and had bought another sheet a few days ago out of which I could make six. I shipped three of them this morning.

Any other takers for one out of this batch before I let this thread trail off again into the distance?

Hello Jerry - I would like one of your spare tire covers, but I do not have a paypal account. Can/will you accept other means of payment?

Thanks.

Received the new spare tire cover the other day. It is good looking and very nice solid part, and a welcome change from the poor old tattered OEM cover.

Thanks Jerry!

Hi Jerry - PM sent for tire cover (if any are left). Also, if you need capital for WW cover project, happy to pay up-front for pre-order. Thanks!
