Thanks for the wishes everyone.

Dan,
were you in a 928 as well?

The gf will be claiming injuries etc. and got a bunch of testing done. The doctors said that it is all just muscle damage and that she will be sore today, and even more so tomorrow.
As to myself, I was 100% perfectly straight at the time of the impact. I actually had my foot off the gas and hovering over the brake as I was coming to an intersection. The moment I saw her bumper come out I braced one foot on the dead pedal, the other on the brake, and both arms on the wheel. My head, and body did not move forward.
The sudden impact on the brake pedal caused my gf seatbelt to lock prior to the accident but I know her head whipped.

Rixter,
I paid for the tow and had the vehicle returned to my house. I have already told the insurance people that I am keeping it, I dont care if it is just for parts, or if I rebuild it. But they are not getting their hands on the car. The person on the phone questioned me slightly, but accepted my answer.

If I part her out I will post it up on here. But there will be many items that I will be keeping.

Bummer!

You can be replaced with an import, but there are only so many 928s left.

Colin
Sad to see this. Glad to see you and gf are doing well.
If this sort of thing has to happen at least the car will be in the right hands to see if it can be repaired. I hope it can.

I was driving the trusted Kauai mudbuster and baby hauler 2005 Pilot. Surprsingly stout with the trailer hitch option. Just gets Chevy Surburban like fuel mileage ;(

I'm really stiff and sore this morning. Wearing soft brace.

I too was in an accident today. Was hit hard from behind. Snapped my neck like a bobble doll. Happened around 12:30. Just got home about an hour ago. Spent almost 8 hours at the hospital getting checked out, x-rays/CT Scan, etc. Taking meds and wearing a neck brace. Ugh!

Sorry about the hijack but strange two Shark owners in an accident on the same day.

Please post more pics when you can and just because you don't feel any pain now does not mean you wont over the next few days. Me? I'm really sore and have lots of tension in my neck and back.

Good luck and best wishes for a good outcome.

Don't know whether things work the same in Canada, but I had a situation with one of my projects: a 1982 Yamaha SECA 750 that I converted to fuel injection.

While I was having lunch one day, a guy turned into the restaurant parking lot with a pickup pulling a 5th wheel. He had pulled in to make a U-turn, and ran right over my bike with the 5th wheel without seeing it at all.

His insurance company came up with something like, "We'll give you $1000 to total it because we found two similar (actually older and in lousy shape) bikes on Craigslist for about that price." My insurance company initally offered more like $1400, minus the $250 deductible they would try to get back from his company. Eventually, after asking for help and advice from my company, they suggested that they could bring in an independent appraiser to look at my bike. He looked at it, and the project web page that documented all the work and parts I'd put into it, and came back to them with a much more reasonable $2000 value, which allowed me to buy back the totaled bike and reasonably repair the damage.

Might be worth trying to get your insurance company to bring in an appraiser as well....

Good luck with this.

Cheers,
Paul

Colin!

Sorry to hear the news. Glad to hear things were not worse, we're hoping for the best for you and your gf that things don't develop later.

Was that the S4 that I got a ride in when we were all up for the rack thing? A shame.

S4ordie, sorry to hear about your accident too, hope you start feeling better.

Simply ridiculous. Pulling in front of a red car? Who couldn't see that?
